この発明はロータリーキルン式の焼却炉に係
り、特に集塵装置により捕集した重原油灰(以下
EP灰と略称する)等、微粉状の焼却物を焼却処

化に伴い膨大な量にのぼつており、その処理も各
種提案されているが、EP灰中の保有エネルギー
の有効利用が可能で、かつEP灰容積の減少が図
れる焼却処理が最近特に注目されている。この焼
却処理の一つとしてロータリーキルンを用いる方
法がある。第1図はロータリーキルンを用いて
EP灰を焼却処理する方法を示し、ロータリーキ
ルン端部に設けた固定壁10を貫通した焼却物投
入シユート4からロータリーキルン本体7内に投
入されたEP灰12はバーナ5の火炎により焼却
される。炉内の冷却および焼却物燃焼に利用する
空気(以下単に冷却空気と称する)は第2図に示
す如く、キルン本体7と固定壁5の間に環状に形
成されたスリツト11を通つてキルン本体7の内
部円周方向に対して均一に噴射供給される。この
ため、キルン本体7の下部から噴射された空気に
より、EP灰等の粉体の焼却物は第1図のく炉内
に舞い上り、いわゆるダステイング現象を生じ、
