In general, an axle housing for a vehicle is composed of a main body consisting of a differential housing and a vehicle tube, and tube ends connected to both ends of the main body. For example, in the case of an axle housing for a forklift, the main body is manufactured by casting steel, and the tube end is manufactured by forging.

On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 3, bolting is generally used to connect the tube end to the main body. However, when bolting is used, the flange surface on the tube end side must be drilled, and the end surface on the main body side must be tapped, making the joining process extremely troublesome. It was hot. Further, a sealing material must be interposed on the joint surface to ensure oil tightness within the housing, and as a result, the cost is inevitably increased in addition to the above-mentioned drilling process.

The present invention is an attempt to improve the conventional situation in view of the above-mentioned actual situation, and the present invention is an attempt to improve the conventional situation by attaching the mast support attachment part and the chassis assembly part formed in the main body of the axle housing to the main body of the axle housing. The collar, which forms the mast support attachment part, and the bracket, which forms the chassis assembly part, are provided separately and are fixed to the main body by welding after each part is processed and finished. In addition, by connecting the tube ends to both end faces of the main body through press-fitting or welding, processing and assembly can be facilitated, and an inexpensive axle housing can be obtained. That is, in the present invention, the main body is formed by a differential housing and a pair of axle tubes extending from the differential housing, and a mast support attachment portion and a chassis attachment portion are provided protruding from the outer peripheral surfaces of both axle tube portions. In the axle housing for forklifts, in which tube ends are connected to the ends of both axle tubes, a mast support mounting part and a shear seam assembly part are formed separately from the main body, and the mast support mounting collar and shear seam assembly are attached to the main body. A mounting bracket is provided separately, and the collar and bracket are finished, and then the collar is inserted into the axle tube, welded between the collar and the axle tube, and the same is applied. The base of the bracket is fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the collar by welding, while the base of the tube end is press-fitted into the end of the axle tube, and welding is performed between the tube end and the axle tube. The gist of this document is as follows.

Hereinafter, specific embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the illustrative drawings. 1 and 2, reference numeral 1 indicates the main body of the axle housing. The main body part 1 is formed by a differential housing 2 located at the center of the main body part 1, and a pair of left and right axle tube parts 3, 3 integrally extending from both left and right ends of the differential housing 2. Ru. Openings 4 and 4' are provided at both front and rear ends of the differential housing 2, and the front opening 4 is covered with a differential housing cover 5. Same differential housing cover 5
As shown in FIG. 2, it is formed in a substantially hemispherical dome shape, and its opening edge is fixed to the opening edge on the differential housing 2 side by welding. Further, a flange 6 is fixed to the rear opening 4' by welding. The flange 6 is formed in an annular shape so as to surround the opening 4', and mounting holes 6' are opened at regular intervals along the annular portion. Although not shown, a differential carrier is fixed to the flange 6 through the mounting holes 6'.

so that it is formed. Then, the state in which the clearance a is formed on the lower side of the axle tube portions 3, 3 is restrained via an appropriate jig, and the collars 7, 7 are restrained against the axle tube portions 3, 3 in this manner. In this state, welding is performed on the top surfaces of the axle tube portions 3, 3.

That is, in the present invention, the mast support attachment part is formed separately as a collar from the main body of the axle housing, and the bracket for assembling the chassis is also formed separately from the collar.
The collar and bracket are each finished at the component stage, and after each component is finished, they are integrated into the main body by welding, making assembly easier. I was able to do it. Furthermore, since the collar, bracket, and main body can be machined as individual parts, they can be machined without the need for dedicated processing machinery and equipment, and the processing efficiency can be increased. Furthermore, by providing the collar and bracket as separate parts to the main body as described above, the collar and bracket can be made of a material different from that of the main body, that is, a low-cost material. This has made it possible to improve the overall yield.

On the other hand, the tube ends are connected to both ends of the main body by press-fitting and welding, which makes the joining process easier and reduces costs compared to conventional bolted structures. It came to this. In other words, in the case of the joining method by press-fit welding, there is no need for drilling on the flange surface on the tube end side or tapping on the end surface on the main body side, so in addition to making the joining work easier, Assembling accuracy can be ensured through press-fitting, and there is no problem with sealing properties at the press-fitting or welding parts, and there is no need for a sealant to be inserted into the joints, making it possible to drill holes as described above. In addition to not requiring machining or tapping, this makes it possible to connect at an overall low cost.
