As is well known, a laser barcode scanner irradiates a rotating mirror with a laser beam to form an output beam with a fixed reading width, irradiates the barcode with this output beam, and receives the reflected light from the barcode to read it. However, in conventional compact laser barcode scanners, the output beam can only be taken out from one specific direction of the housing due to its structure. As a result, the mounting direction of the housing is limited, resulting in a lack of versatility.

To summarize, this invention fixes a rotating mirror at a constant inclination angle with respect to an incident beam, and houses a housing so that the output beam from the rotating mirror can be output by changing the beam direction directly or via a reflecting mirror. It is characterized in that window holes from which the output beam can be taken out are formed on two different side surfaces of the output beam.

Reference numeral 1 denotes a housing that houses a laser barcode scanner body, and inside the housing 1 is a laser beam generator 2 that generates a laser beam;
Incident beam a 1 from the laser beam generator 2
a rotating mirror 3 for forming an output beam a2 with a constant reading width; a light reception detection circuit 4 for receiving and reading a beam a3 opposite to the output beam irradiated on the barcode A; A half mirror 5, a reflection mirror 6, etc. for guiding the light to the detection circuit 4 are built-in. In the above configuration, the present invention forms a first window hole 10 on one side of the housing for directly taking out the output beam a 2 from the rotating mirror 3 to the outside of the housing 1, and also forms a first window hole 10 on one side of the housing.
The output beam a 2 is changed in beam direction through the reflector plate 7 and is connected to the first window hole 10 of the housing.
Second window hole 11 for taking out from the side 90 degrees apart
It is characterized by the formation of That is, when the output beam a 2 is directly extracted from the rotating mirror 3 to the outside of the housing 1, according to the present invention, the rotating mirror 3 has an inclination angle α with respect to the incident beam a 1 as shown in FIG. In the embodiment, α is set to 30 degrees. As is well known, the rotating mirror 3 is rotated by a motor (not shown) at a speed of several tens of revolutions per second, and when the incident beam a 1 is irradiated onto the mirrors attached to the four sides of the cube, The reflected light due to the rotation forms an output beam a2 with a constant reading width. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2A, this output beam a2 is directly taken out to the outside of the housing 1 through the first window hole 10.
In this case, the filter 8 is attached to the first window hole 10, while the reflection plate 7 is attached to the second window hole 11. Next, a reflector 7 is installed in place of the filter 8 in the first window hole 10, while a filter 8 is installed in the second window hole 11.
The output beam from the rotating mirror 3 as shown in Figure B
a 2 is reflected by the reflecting plate 7 attached to the first window hole 10 and taken out from the second window hole 11 through the filter 8 to the outside of the housing. That is, by forming window holes on two different side surfaces of the housing 1, attaching the reflecting plate 7 to one window hole and attaching the filter 8 to the other window hole, and exchanging these attachment locations, the above-mentioned effect can be achieved. 2
Output beam a 2 can be taken out from a desired window hole among these window holes. The fixed inclination angle of the rotary mirror 3 in this invention is not necessarily limited to that of the embodiment, but may be set as appropriate depending on the relationship with the position of the window hole formed in the housing, the reflection angle of the reflection plate 7, etc. It's something you get.
