Conventionally, as a method for connecting a flexible flat cable 1 having a structure in which conductors are arranged between plastic sheets to an electrical wiring board, for example, as shown in FIG. 2a,
There is a method of clamping it onto the electrical wiring boards 3 and 4 using the screws 2b and fixing it using fastening members 5a and 5b such as screws.

In this conventional method, the fastening member 5a,
5b and the thickness of the pressing pieces 5a and 2b,
Since it protrudes from the cable surface, when incorporating it into a device, it is necessary to provide a space corresponding to this amount between the device case and the pressing piece 2.
The weight increases by the width of the fastening members 5a and 5b and the number of fastening members 5a and 5b, which has the disadvantage that it is not possible to achieve sufficient reduction in size and weight.

When connecting the flat cable 11 to the board 19, the lower flat plate 18 of the flat cable 11 is pressed against the double-sided tape 21 on the board 19 and temporarily fixed, and then the hot soldering rod 25 is attached to the upper flat plate of the flat cable 11. 17, and the solders 23a and 24a are melted and joined by the conducted heat.

As shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, the tongues 12 and 13 extending from both sides of the flat cable 11 are further bent in the direction of arrow A from the state shown by the dashed line, and are bent toward the bottom surface 19' of the board 19. Fold back, double-sided tape 30
It is attached to the bottom surface 19' by using. Since the board 19 is not only soldered but also held from both sides by the tongues 12 and 13, the flat cable 11 may be damaged due to irregularly repeated swinging during assembly work.
There is no separation between the two.

Further, in FIG. 4, the board connecting portion 11b side of the flat cable 11 is soldered to the right board 31 in the same way as the connecting portion 11a side, and the tongue pieces 14 and 15 on both sides of the connecting portion 11b are soldered on both sides of the board 31. It is folded back to the bottom surface and attached with double-sided tape to sandwich the substrate 31.

Therefore, the flat cable 11 in FIG. 6 can be used to prevent the substrate 1 from being particularly affected by the force acting in the direction of the arrow B without using a fastening member such as an arrow screw through the pressing piece.
9, 31 can be firmly held, for example, even if an assembly worker lifts the flat cable 11 in the opposite direction when assembling equipment, the flat cable 11 will not separate from the boards 19, 31, giving priority to work speed. As a result, even if the device is handled somewhat roughly, there will be no problem, work efficiency can be improved, and the reliability of the equipment can also be improved.

Therefore, by using the flat cable 11, it is possible to reduce the size and weight of the device.

FIG. 7 shows a second embodiment of the flexible flat cable according to the present invention. In FIG. 7, the flexible flat cable 332 is connected to the tongue pieces 33, 34, 35,
36 is bent and formed into a shape that embraces the substrate 37. Therefore, when connecting the flat cable 32 to the board 37, the tongues 33 and 34 are spread in the directions of arrows C and D, respectively, and attached to the board 37.
3 and 34 are adhered to the bottom surface of the substrate 37 with double-sided tape 39, and sandwich the substrate 37 from both sides. Incidentally, the connection between the conductors of the flat cable 32 and the substrate 37 is soldered in the same manner as in the previous embodiment. Further, the flat cable 32 is connected to the board 38 in the same way as the board 37, and the tongue pieces 35, 36
are adhered to the bottom surface of the substrate 38 from both sides to firmly hold it.

Therefore, compared to the first embodiment, the flat cable 32 has tongues 33, 34, 35, and 36 bent in advance, instead of having flat tongues bent. The restoring force caused by the elasticity of the tongues to separate from the bottom surface of the substrate and return to a flat state does not act, and the adhesive force of the tongues 33, 34, 35, and 36 to the bottom surface of the substrate becomes stronger. 38 can be held more firmly.

In the above description, double-sided tape was used as a means for adhering the tongue piece to the substrate, but it goes without saying that the adhesive is not limited to this, and adhesives or the like may also be used.

As mentioned above, the flexible flat cable according to the present invention is a flexible flat cable that is provided with a conductor and connects an electrical wiring board. Since it has an integral tongue piece that clamps the board, there is no need to use a pressing piece or fastening member when connecting to the board, eliminating extra space and weight inside the device, making it compact and lightweight, and achieving high density. It can be mounted and held securely without separating even when subjected to repeated rocking, so it can be handled quickly, prioritizing assembly work efficiency, improving productivity and equipment reliability. By bending and molding the tongues in advance to correspond to the shape of the electrical wiring board, the elastic restoring force of the tongues is removed and the board can be strongly held.
