Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it easier for the operator to obtain the desired mixing sentence of KNJI (Chinese character) and KANA (Japanese syllabary) by storing the clause boundary information along with the pronunciation. CONSTITUTION:Into an input part 1, both the pronunciation and clause boundary of Japanese language can be inputted, and the inputted information is stored in an input information storage part 2. A KANA to KANJI converter part 3 converts the pronunciation-information of Japanese language read out from the part 2 to KANJI. A converted-information storage part 4 stores the KANJI- KANA-mixed sentence after KANA to KANJI convertion, and a display part 5 displays it to show the operator the result of th convertion. When the part 3 converts the pronunciation of the Japanese language into a KANJI-KANA- mixed sentence, for instance, because it can know that there is the clause bound ary after the 'KYO' (to-day), it can convert the string to a sentence 'KYO WA HAISHA E IKU' (meaning 'I go to see a dentist doctor, today.')

Conventionally, Japanese input methods that have a kana-kanji conversion function that converts Japanese reading information into 9 sentences mixed with kanji and kana,
When inputting Japanese reading information and instructing the operator to convert the input reading information into a kanji-kana-mixed sentence, the input reading information is converted to kana-kanji from the beginning, and the operator can select homonyms, etc. As a result, the operator's desired kanji/kana-mixed text is created. Various methods have been proposed and implemented for kana-kanji conversion, depending on whether the input unit is a word, a phrase, or multiple phrases.

However, in the conventional Japanese input method described above, when the kana-kanji conversion unit is multiple clauses, it is necessary to fully judge whether the clause breaks are dojin when converting kana-kanji. Various methods have been proposed and implemented. However, with these methods, for example, if the pronunciation information of ``Today I go to Shiya Heiku'' is converted into a sentence containing kanji and kana, it can be interpreted as ``I'm going to the doctor today'' or ``I'm going to the dentist today'', and it can be interpreted as desired by the operator. Since it is not possible to determine which sentence it is, in such a case, one of the sentences must be presented to the operator, and if it is incorrect, the operator must correct it. The so-called solid kana-kanji conversion method, which inputs the reading information of multiple clauses (sometimes several pages of text) and converts them into kana-kanji, is more efficient than the method of converting kana-kanji on a word-by-word or - clause basis. It has drawbacks such as a small number of keystrokes and conversion loss.

The Japanese input method of the present invention includes a means for inputting Japanese pronunciation information and clause delimiter information, a means for storing all input information, and a means for reading out the contents of this storage means. It has a kana-kanji conversion means that creates a mixed kanji-kana sentence from the reading information and phrase delimiter information, so that when the operator inputs the Japanese reading information, the phrase delimiter information is also input at the same time. Since the operator can input the delimiter information at the break between phrases, the break between the phrases will be clear during kana-kanji conversion, making it easier for the operator to obtain the desired sentence with kanji and kana mixed in. be done.

Is the kana-kanji f conversion unit 3 reading Japanese reading information read from the input information storage unit? Convert kana to kanji.

The operation of the embodiment configured as described above will be described below.

操作者は入力部lから日本語の読みを入力する。The operator inputs the Japanese pronunciation from the input section l.

Then, the input information storage unit 2 stores it. for example"
I'm going to the dentist today. When you input the sentence ``I'm going to the school today.'', the input information storage unit 2
is stored as shown in FIG. The kana-kanji conversion section 3 converts the input information storage section 2 into Japanese readings, kanji, kana, and sushi sentences. Various methods of kana-kanji conversion have been proposed and implemented. Regardless of the method, two sentences are generated in this example sentence: "I'm going to the dentist today." and "I'm going to the doctor today." Since it is not possible to determine which sentence the operator intended to input, it is necessary to display one or both on the display section 5 and have the operator make a correction or select one.

However, when the segment delimiter t is entered after "kyo", segment delimiter information is stored in the input information storage unit 2 as shown in FIG. 3.

Next, when the kana-kanji conversion unit 3 converts this Japanese reading into a kanji-kana-mixed sentence, it can be seen that the segment is broken at ``kyo'', so the conversion result can be ``I'm going to the dentist today.'' , it is possible to easily obtain sentences containing kanji and kana that the operator intended.

The Japanese input method of the present invention allows segment delimiter information to be input at the same time when inputting the Japanese reading, and this delimiter information is stored together with the reading, and when converting kana-kanji,
By generating a kanji-kana-mixed sentence while referring to this delimiter information, the operator can more easily obtain the kanji-kana-kana-mixed sentence that he or she intended. This has the effect of eliminating interruptions in thinking and input operations.
