FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a head using a conventional method, in which a pressure chamber 9 and a nozzle 8 provided in a base body 1 change the ink pressure in the pressure chamber 9 by vibrating a diaphragm 2, thereby generating ink particles. is ejected from the nozzle 8. A piezoelectric element 6 is used as a vibration means at this time. The piezoelectric element 6 is provided with electrodes 5 and 4 on the upper and lower sides, one of which is joined to the electrode 3 disposed on the diaphragm 2 above the pressure chamber 9, and the other connected to the lead wire 7. When a voltage 10 is applied between the lead wire 7 and the electrode 3, the piezoelectric element 6 is distorted, causing the diaphragm to vibrate.

Even if they were connected by soldering, they would peel off easily and the connection would become unreliable. Furthermore, if the amount of solder is increased in an attempt to firmly fix the connection between the lead wire 7 and the piezoelectric element 6, vibrations will be hindered and the jetting characteristics of the head will be impaired.

For transmission, an upper electrode provided on the top surface of the piezoelectric element is extended to the side end surface, and a part of the side end surface and the selection drive electrode on the diaphragm are electrically connected using a conductive bonding member. Therefore, the influence of vibration of the piezoelectric element that occurs during driving is extremely small, and the electrical reliability of the connection is improved.
Not only is the durability extremely high, but the vibration characteristics of the piezoelectric element are not impaired in any way by the electrical connection, and extremely good ink jetting can be performed. Therefore, when ink is ejected from a plurality of nozzles, clear printing can be achieved with the same amount of ink and ejection speed regardless of the nozzles.
