Conventionally, in storage batteries, short circuits between the negative and anode plates are prevented, the distance between the negative and anode plates is kept constant, and pressure is applied uniformly over the entire surface of the plates.
In order to prevent the active substance from expanding and falling off, to retain sufficient electrolyte between the electrode plate and the opposing separator plate, and to facilitate the escape of gas generated from the anode plate, a flat plate is used. A separator plate is used that has a substrate with a raised rib surface. However, in a closed storage battery, the rib surfaces of the separators that bring the tube surfaces into contact with each other are not necessarily the same as the number of tubes, and even if they are, they do not necessarily lie on the axis of the tubes. It is difficult to assemble the electrode plates in contact with each other, and if they are assembled off the tube axis, or if there is slight loosening of the group pressure due to vibrations while the battery is in use, they can easily come off the tube axis. Not only is the rib surface protrusion provided at intervals commensurate with the tube axis spacing not only effective, but also because of the above-mentioned purpose of providing a constant spacing between the electrode plate and the separator plate. Conventional separators had drawbacks, such as it became difficult to maintain or maintain uniform pressure over the entire surface of the electrode plate, and the separator could eventually float away from the anode plate it was facing. .

The present invention eliminates the drawbacks of the conventional separators as described above, and provides a separator that is vertically ridged on a flat substrate in parallel with the tube axis of the anode plate of a clad storage battery at intervals corresponding to the tube axis. The electrode plates are grouped by protruding cone-shaped objects at various points on the upper ends of the rib surfaces and abutting the electrode plates by inserting the pointed angles into the gaps existing in the tube axes of the opposing anode plates. This prevents the separator from floating away from the anode plate.

To explain the present invention, 1 has a rib surface 5 which is protruded parallel to vertical stripes on a flat substrate 4 which is brought into relative contact so as to correspond to the axis 3 of the anode plate tube 2. The separator plate and anode plate tube 2 are made into a tube shape by braiding glass fibers or synthetic resin fibers, and are inserted into a core metal 6 made of lead alloy, and an active material such as lead powder is inserted into the space between the core metal 6 and the tube 2. 7 is filled and a certain number of tubes are focused to form an anode plate, and a fine gap 8 is formed on the surface of the anode plate tube 2, which serves as a flow path for gas and electrolyte. be. Reference numeral 9 is a rib surface 5 which is raised parallel to the longitudinal stripes of the flat plate-like substrate 4, and has sharp, cone-shaped sawtooth portions provided at arbitrary intervals at the upper end of the rib surface 5. The upper part of the rib surface 5 is shaped like a sawtooth.

The present invention has the above-mentioned structure, and when a group of electrode plates is assembled using the separator for a storage battery according to the present invention, the rib surface 5 is always brought into contact with the axis 3 of the anode tube 2, and the plate group is If group pressure is applied from the lateral side, the serrations 9 of the rib surface 5 will be inserted into the tube knitting slits 8 of the tube axis 3, and there will be no fear that the separator 1 will shift horizontally or vertically. Since only the sawtooth portions 9 of the rib surface 5 are inserted, the height of the protrusion of the rib surface 5 does not change, and the distance between the rib surfaces 5 and the anode plate is maintained at a constant distance. Furthermore, the pressure applied to the electrode plate surface remains uniform.

Therefore, there is a sufficient volume between the opposing electrode plates and the separator plate to hold the electrolytic solution, and the electrolytic solution can freely flow therebetween, and the flat substrate 4 between the rib surfaces 5
This, together with the spacing between the anode plate tube 2 and the anode plate tube 2, facilitates upward escape of gas generated on the anode plate.

As mentioned above, the present invention has the upper part of the rib surface which is vertically ridged in the vertical direction formed into a serrated shape,
By inserting it into the tube surface at this part, it reliably prevents the separator from shifting vertically and horizontally, that is, from floating, thereby preventing short circuits between the negative and anode plates caused by shifting. The practical value of being able to prevent this is extremely great.
