Conventionally, in an ink-on-demand type inkjet recording apparatus, the surface tension of the ink jetting nozzle and the static pressure due to the difference in height between the jetting nozzle and the ink tank are balanced and stable. Therefore, even slight changes in conditions can cause ink to flow out of the jet nozzle or air to enter the jet nozzle.
It was difficult to keep stable records. Furthermore, in portable inkjet recording apparatuses, there is no measure to deal with changes in height due to differences in posture and positive pressure (the ink tank surface is higher than the nozzle). Another drawback was that the ink in the nozzle and tank dried.

The balance of the internal pressure of the ink is maintained by the equivalent capillary force at the air contact surface 10, the height difference H, and the capillary force due to the meniscus at the nozzle 6. The ink impregnating material 3 prevents the ink from moving rapidly. As the ink is ejected from the nozzle 6, the atmospheric contact surface moves. The ink tank can also be placed horizontally as shown in FIG. 2, and even if the amount of ink changes, the height difference H in the static position hardly changes. Therefore, changes in height can be ignored until almost the end of the impregnated ink. As the ink-impregnated material 3, porous materials such as felt, polyester, nylon fibers, foamed plastic, etc. can be used, but it is most suitable to use a large number of long fibers such as polyester, nylon, etc. arranged in the direction of ink flow. The inner diameter of the injection nozzle 6 is approximately 25 to 100 μm. If the internal pressure of the ink at the nozzle 6 is even slightly higher than the atmospheric pressure, the ink will flow out from the ejection nozzle due to minute vibrations. The surface tension of normal ink is
Since it is around 35 dyn/cm, if the internal pressure of this part is not in the range of about 0 to 60 cmH 2 O based on atmospheric pressure, ink will flow out or air will flow in.
Further, the height difference H can take a value of about ±10 cm based on the nozzle. Therefore, when the capillary force of the ink tank 1 and ink impregnating material 3 system generates a pressure of about 0 to 70 cmH 2 O, it becomes stable. Although it is possible to prevent capillary force from acting on the atmosphere contact surface 10 by putting more ink than necessary into the ink-impregnated material 3, the capillary force fluctuates rapidly.

The tube 4 containing the ink-impregnating material is effective in alleviating pressure fluctuations caused by rapid movement of the tube 4, but it is not necessary to fill it with the ink-impregnating material when the pressure fluctuations are small. Further, when the ink tank 1 and the head 5 are close to each other, the supply tube can be removed by directly connecting them. When ink is not ejected from the nozzle 6, the nozzle cap 7 and tank cap 8 are moved to prevent the ink from drying, thereby preventing components within the ink from diffusing from the ink system to the atmosphere. FIG. 3 shows another embodiment of the invention. A nozzle cap 7 that blocks the nozzle 6 from the atmosphere, and a tank cap 8 that blocks the atmosphere introduction hole 2 of the ink tank 1 from the atmosphere.
are connected by a connecting member 20 so as to be movable in the direction of the arrow, and the other configurations are the same as the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. When recording, the nozzle cap 7 and tank cap 8 are simultaneously moved by the connecting member 20 to open the nozzle 6 and the atmosphere introduction hole 2 of the ink tank to the atmosphere, and printing is performed. When not recording, the nozzle cap 7,
It is moved simultaneously with the tank cap 8 to block the nozzle 6 and the atmosphere introduction hole 2 of the ink tank from the atmosphere.

The atmosphere introduction hole 2 of the ink tank is provided near the nozzle 6, and the nozzle 6 and the atmosphere introduction hole 2 can be simultaneously shielded from the atmosphere by a common cap 9.The other configuration is as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. This is similar to the example. When recording, the common cap is removed, the nozzle 6 and the atmosphere introduction hole 2 are opened to the atmosphere, and printing is performed. When not recording, the common cap 9 shuts off the nozzle 6 and the atmosphere introduction hole 2 from the atmosphere at the same time.

As described above, the present invention includes an ink-on-demand type ink jet head, an ink tank filled with an ink-impregnating material containing ink and having an air introduction hole, and an ink jet head from the ink tank to the ink jet head. An inkjet recording device comprising: a supply member for supplying ink to the ink; and a cap means for simultaneously shielding the atmosphere introduction hole of the ink tank and the nozzle of the ink jet head from the atmosphere, the cap means having an integral structure. Therefore, although it has a simple structure, it can simultaneously isolate the ink tank and nozzle from the atmosphere, so there is no problem of ink overflowing from the nozzle or ink tank due to temperature changes that would occur if one cap is forgotten. It can also prevent drying.
