Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned printer, in which the numbr of parts is small, the manufacturing cost thereof is inexpensive, driving with a low energy is possible due to the light weight thereof, a motor therefor may be miniaturized and the weight thereof may be reduced, by a method wherein a head and a carriage are contained in one exchange part. CONSTITUTION:The carriage 7 and the head are constituted integrally as the exchange unit. A flow path 3, an air trap 2 and the head 4 in the carriage 7 are filled wit ink so as to contain no air bubble from the delivery at a factory. In order to prevent the run-off of the ink, an ink intake 8 from a tank, a nozzle 5 are preferably to be sealed by a cap 10 while the whole of the exchange unit is preferable to be packed by a package constituted by a material having a high evaporation preventing effect such as an aluminum laminate film or the like and delivered, in order to prevent the evaporation of the ink.

However, problems such as clogging of the nozzle and failure of ink to be ejected when air bubbles enter the cavity have not been completely overcome and are a cause of decreased reliability. Since the causes of these troubles are concentrated in the inkjet F head, the conventional solution to trouble has been to replace only the head. This method has the advantage that the parts to be replaced remain relatively small, and at the same time has the disadvantage that the replacement work is relatively difficult. In other words, after replacing the head, it is necessary to fill the flow path inside the head with ink without air bubbles, and this work usually involves first injecting a liquid with low surface tension into the head, completely expelling air bubbles, and then replacing the liquid with ink. This method requires a considerable amount of time for non-specific users, and there are problems such as dirty hands.

First, a replacement part is prepared not as a single head but as an integrated head and carriage, and the ink flow path in the carriage and the inside of the head are already filled with ink without bubbles.

This will be explained below with reference to FIG. In a steady state, ink is supplied from the ink tank 1 to the air trap 2 in the carriage 7, and the ink flow path 3 and head 4 after the air trap 2 are filled with ink without bubbles. If a problem such as air bubbles entering the head 4 or clogging of the nozzle 5 occurs and the printing operation cannot be performed, first try to restore the printing operation by pressing the pump 6 as a normal operation. . In most cases, this operation alone will restore normal printing operation, but depending on the severity of the problem, this may not be possible. In that case, it is difficult for non-specific users to identify the cause of the trouble, and in the case of inkjet printers, the cause of trouble is mostly concentrated in the head, so the first step is to replace the head.In the case of the present invention, as a replacement unit The carriage 7 and head 4 are integrally connected, and the flow path 3, air Φ trap 2, and head 4 inside the carriage are filled with ink without bubbles from the time of shipment from the factory. Referring to FIG. 2, the ink intake port 8 from the tank and the nozzle 5 are sealed with a cap 10 to prevent ink from flowing out. In order to prevent ink from evaporating, the entire replacement unit is packaged and supplied in a package 9 made of a material that is highly effective in preventing attenuation, such as an aluminum laminate film. Now, if a printer user encounters a problem that is difficult to recover from, he or she should tear the packaging of the replacement unit mentioned above, remove the cap 10 attached to the ink intake port 8 and nozzle 5, and then replace the unit and replace the tank 1. Install a new unit. In most cases, printing will be possible with the above operations, but if you press lump 6 again, it will be a complete replacement. For this replacement, prepare a special liquid with low pressure. There is no need,
In addition, the printer does not stain hands with ink, and since the operation is simple and can be performed in a short time, it can be performed by non-specific printer users.

Further, according to the present invention, since the head and carriage do not need to be separable, the number of parts of the printer is reduced and manufacturing costs are reduced. Furthermore, due to the reduction in the number of parts, the carriage becomes lighter and can be driven with less energy, which also has the advantage of making the motor smaller and lighter.

As described above, the present invention not only overcomes the drawbacks of conventional methods, but also provides numerous advantages.
