(b) Conventional technology In recent years, YAG laser light, Ar gas laser light, etc.
It is guided into the body through a fiber inserted into an endoscope.
A surgical method in which the surgeon irradiates the affected area with a laser while using an endoscope is becoming popular. In this case, the fiber is generally covered with a tube with good sliding properties such as Teflon to protect it, and then inserted into the endoscope, and at the same time, a cooling gas is flowed into the tube to prevent the fiber from overheating. However, it is still not possible to sufficiently prevent the fiber tip from overheating, and therefore, a metal sleeve 1 as shown in FIG. 1 or FIG. This is done to prevent the tube from being damaged by heat.

(c) Problems that the invention aims to solve However, although the method shown in Fig. 1 has a high cooling effect, since there is a fairly large gas passage 4 between the sleeve and the fiber, the fiber cannot be stabilized in the center of the tube. Therefore, it is difficult to aim by operating the endoscope. On the other hand, the second
In the system shown in the figure, the fiber is supported reliably, but since the gas passage 4 is not in direct contact with the fiber 2, the cooling effect is low, leading to thermal deterioration or damage to the fiber.

(d) Means for solving the problems This invention provides a fiber support that eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks, and this support has a base formed of a heat-resistant material with a A fiber insertion hole is provided that is slightly larger than the fiber outer diameter.
The inner surface of this hole is provided with several grooves that are narrower in width than the fiber diameter and serve as gas passages, and a flange for locking to the end face of the fiber protection tube is provided at the periphery of the tip of the base, and an insertion portion into the protection tube is provided. It has a structure with a non-return claw on the outer periphery.

As shown in the figure, a fiber insertion hole 11 having approximately the same diameter as the fiber 2 is provided in the center of a cylindrical base 10 formed of a heat-resistant material such as metal or ceramic.
A plurality of grooves 12 are provided on the inner surface of this hole at regular intervals in the circumferential direction to serve as passages for cooling gas. The width of this groove 12 is smaller than the diameter of the fiber 2, so that the fiber inserted into the hole 11 from the rear of the base does not enter into the groove 12. Also,
Both ends of the hole 11 are formed with tapered surfaces 13 that widen toward the outside to facilitate insertion of the fiber into the support.

Furthermore, there is a protective tube 3 around the tip of the base.
A collar 14 that locks on the end face of the tube is provided to prevent the support from completely entering the protective tube, and the inner surface of the tube is provided on the outer periphery of the insertion part into the protective tube to prevent the support from coming off the tube during use. A plurality of non-return claws 15 are provided at appropriate intervals.

Note that the tapered surface 13 may be provided only at the rear end of the hole 11, and although the groove 12 extends linearly in the length direction, it may be formed in other shapes, such as a spiral shape.

The check claw 15 is provided to enable repeated use of the support. In other words, the lifespan of the protective tube is considerably shorter than that of the support, and if the two are glued together, the support must be discarded when replacing the tube, but if a non-return claw is provided, the support can be discarded. It can be removed and installed in a new protective tube.

(f) Effects If the support device of this invention explained above is adopted,
Since a gas passage is formed on the outer periphery of the fiber to directly cool the fiber, albeit intermittently, the cooling effect is large and thermal damage to the fiber is reduced.

In addition, since the tip of the fiber is guided by the inner surface of the insertion hole, it is stably supported in the center of the protective tube parallel to the tube, making it easy to aim the endoscope and preventing errors in laser beam irradiation. It won't happen.

Furthermore, a flange is provided at the tip of the base, so there is no need to worry about over-insertion into the protective tube, making installation easy.Additionally, a check claw is provided around the outer periphery of the insertion tube to prevent it from falling off during use. and its repeated use becomes possible.

In addition, a fiber insertion opening with a tapered chamfer has the effect of making it easier to insert the fiber.
