従来の精柔機のように茶葉の表面よりの自然蒸発
にまかせることなく、熱風により茶葉の乾燥を行
うため茶葉の状況にあわせて乾燥速度を自由に制
御することで乾燥時間を短縮すると共に、反面茶
葉の表面のみの乾燥を著しく促進し茶葉表面が硬
化させ茶葉の内部水分の表面からの蒸発を妨げて
所謂「上乾き」という現象を生じ、茶葉の温度を
異常に上昇し粉の発生や変色を発生したり、また
逆に茶葉の内部水分の侵出に蒸発が追従できずム
レ等の変質を生ずると共に乾燥効率の悪化とあい
まつて不必要な時間ばかり消費するような事態は
起こらない。
