Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of white lines at both ends of printing and to improve the quality of printing by forming both ends of the luminescent surface of an LED element to a longitudinally long shape. CONSTITUTION:The shapes 7 of the luminescent surface dots at both ends on the element 1 are formed into a rectangular shape. Light is thereby distributed as shown in 8 of the figure in the element 1 as well by overlapping of the light and the generation of the white lines between the elements 1 is eventually obviated when printing is executed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to a print head for a printer using LED elements.

Conventionally, in this type of printer, all the light emitting surfaces of the LED elements have the same shape.

The shape of the light emitting surface of the conventional LED element described above is the same for all dots, so if the distance between the light emitting points between the LED elements and the mating surface between the elements is long, there will be less overlap in the light distribution, so it is difficult to print. However, there was a drawback that white streaks appeared.

That is, as shown in FIG. 2, when a plurality of LED elements 1 each having a large number of light emitting surface dots 2 formed on the plane thereof are used as a print head by arranging them in a straight line, the distance 3 between the elements is Since the distance between the light-emitting dots within the element is longer than the distance between the light-emitting dots, the light-emitting distribution within the element interferes with each other at regular intervals, as shown in the right diagram of Figure 2 (b), but the light distribution at the distance between the elements is It gets darker like 4. For this reason, Figure 2 (C
) When characters or pictures are printed, normal printing in which time and date streaks 6 occur is printed entirely in black as shown in 5.

FIG. 1(a) is a plan view of an embodiment of the LED element of the present invention. In order to solve the conventional drawbacks, a patent featuring the shape 7 of the light-emitting surface dots at both ends of the element 1 resulted in the light distribution becoming as shown in Figure 1(b), resulting in overlapped light 8 between the elements. As a result of printing as shown in the figure and as shown in FIG. 1(C), the milling line 6 does not occur.

As explained above, it has been found that the present invention does not generate milling marks as a result of printing by making the light emitting surface dots at both ends of the LED element rectangular, and has the effect of improving printing quality.
