[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to a hair dryer, and particularly to improving the safety of a heat generating device. This type of heat generating device, in which the heater is wrapped around a flat surface, has a wide heat generating surface, so it has been difficult to operate the overtemperature preventer reliably regardless of the orientation of the main body. In particular, in the fan restraint test, which assumed that the thermostat was broken and the motor was also broken,
The operating time varies significantly depending on the orientation of the main body, and if the main body is made of synthetic resin, there is a risk of thermal deformation or ignition, which is not desirable from a safety standpoint.

Hereinafter, details of the present invention will be explained along with one embodiment. Reference numeral 1 denotes a main body case molded from synthetic resin, which consists of a front case 2 and a rear case 3, and has a suction hole 4 at the rear and an air outlet 5 at the front. 6 is a wire mesh for dustproofing attached to the inside of the suction hole. A motor accommodating portion 15 is formed in the center of the rear case 3 so as to protrude rearward from the suction hole surface, and the motor 7 is housed in the motor accommodating portion 15. The motor 7 is fixed to the rear case with screws 9 while being supported by a motor fixing plate 8. Reference numeral 10 denotes a fan fixed to the motor shaft, which sends air sucked in from the suction hole 4 to the electric heating device in front. Reference numeral 11 denotes an electric heating device, which includes a polygonal heater board 12, a heater wire 13 wrapped around the heater board, and a motor voltage drop resistor 1.
4. Overtemperature rise preventer 15, 16 and thermostat 17
etc. are installed. The heater wire 13 is spirally wound substantially over the entire surface of the fan 10 at right angles to the axial direction. The overtemperature preventer 15 is located near the voltage drop resistor 14, and the other overtemperature preventer 1
6 is attached near the heater wire 13.
A temperature fuse is used in the overtemperature rise preventers 15 and 16, and for safety reasons, they are designed not to return after operation. 17 is a thermostat which is a thermostat, and an automatic reset type is used. Reference numeral 18 denotes a lead plate for connecting each electrical component, and a brass plate is used. Heater wire 13 and voltage drop resistor 1
A heat-resistant thread 19 is threaded through the center of the coil 4.
Measures have been taken to prevent sagging in the event of runout or wire breakage. A conical fixed grille 21 and a movable grille 20 are attached to the front surface of the front case 2 so that the ventilation area gradually decreases toward the front.
An air outlet 5 is formed in the center of each grill,
A grid-shaped auxiliary blow-off hole 7 is formed around this. Reference numeral 22 denotes a slide knob for operating the movable grill 20, which is held between the front case 2 and the rear case 3, and by sliding it, the grids between the grills overlap and the blowout area can be varied. . There are handles 24 at the bottom of the front case 2 and rear case 3.
are integrally formed, and a switch 24 is held inside. 25 is a switch operation knob, 27 is a power cord, and 26 is a cord button. 28
is a rectifier for the motor, and a portion of it is exposed inside the ventilation duct for cooling. 29 is a diode for switching the heater capacity.

5 and 16 are overtemperature rise preventers, and 17 is a constant temperature chamber. The switch changes to 4 stages: "heat", "warm", "cold", and "off", and in the case of "heat", the contacts "B, H, D",
In the case of "warm", the contacts "A, C, D" and "cold"
In the case of , "A" and "C" are connected to each other as a circuit. FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing the relationship between the overtemperature preventer and the heater when placed with the suction hole side facing downward. If a fan restraint test is conducted in this condition assuming a motor failure, if the thermostat is normal, the heater circuit will simply turn on and off, and the heat effect on the device will be minimal. However, when conducting a short-circuit test on the thermostat, assuming that the thermostat also malfunctions, the overtemperature protector must be activated within about 30 seconds or thermal damage will occur to the thermostat. In addition, in a restraint test during a "cold" circuit, it is necessary to operate the overtemperature protector using the heat of the voltage drop resistor, which generates less heat. Must be located nearby. In order to ensure that the overheat protector operates in both "hot" and "cold" directions without being affected by the orientation of the main unit, it is necessary to install the overheat protector near the heater and voltage drop resistor, respectively. is the most effective. In other words, in the posture shown in Figure 3, if the position is "hot", use 16 overtemperature preventers, and if the position is "cold", use 1
This is to operate the excessive temperature rise prevention device No. 5.
