Abstract

PURPOSE:To dispense with any corrective operation by a driver after operation of a steering wheel and restore it to a steering neutral position automatically as well as to improve rectilineal stability after steerage, by installing a controlling device, energizing it to the steering neutral position, in a route of steering force transmission from the steering wheel to both front and rear wheels. CONSTITUTION:A controlling device 30, energizing a steering handle 1 to a steering neutral position, is installed in a route of steering force transmission from the steering handle to front wheels 6 and rear wheels 11, and it is constituted of a pair of springs 33 being set up on turning shafts 16 and 22 and energizing these shafts 16 and 22 to the steering neutral position. Therefore, after operation of the steering wheel 1, it is automatically restored to the steering neutral position by dint of these springs 33 of the controlling device 30. Accordingly, corrective operation of the steering wheel 1 by a driver is no longer required, thus rectilineal stability after steerage in all-wheel steering vehicle is improvable.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) As the steering angle of the wheels becomes smaller in this way, the self-lining torque from the wheels due to the road reaction force becomes smaller.
Since the restoring force of the steering wheel to the neutral steering position is small, the driver is required to correct the steering wheel to the neutral steering position.

Since it is equipped with such a restoring device (30), the handle (1)
After steering the front and rear wheels in the direction of φ by operating the steering wheel, for example, after turning the steering wheel to the left, the coil spring (33) in the front part is used, and after turning the steering wheel to the right, the coil spring (34) in the rear part is used to turn the second wheel. A restoring force to the neutral steering position acts on the linkage shaft (22). This restoring force is transmitted to the steering shaft (2) via the first linkage shaft (21), rotation extraction pinion shaft (9), rack shaft (5), and pinion shaft (4), so that the driver cannot perform steering wheel correction operations. Even if this is not done, the steering wheel (1) is automatically returned to the neutral steering position.
