を有し、さらにはグラツキのない大きな蓋の採用
を可能とするものが要求されている。しかしなが
ら、これらは互いに背反する要求であつて、両立
は困難であつた。従つて、従来においては、量産
適正と低コスト化を達成しようとすると、荷物箱
の積載容量や負荷能力を犠牲にせざるを得ず、反
対に大きな積載容量と負荷能力を得ようとする
と、量産適性が損なわれ、かつ高コスト化してし
まうという問題があつた。

は第4図に示すように、箱体2の背面上部をネジ
6により車体1側に固定する一方、この車体1側
に一端が固定された上記支持板5にて、該箱体2
の底部7を該箱体2の幅方向にわたつて下方から
面状に支持するようになつている。これにより、
箱体2は、それ自体がそれほど大きな強度と剛性
を備えていなくとも、その箱体2内に収納された
荷物の荷重を上記支持板5が受けることにより該
箱体2の歪みが防止され、これとともに、その箱
体2の上部が車体1側に固定されることにより該
箱体2のグラツキが効果的に防止されるようにな
る。従つて、その箱体2が、上述のように低コス
トに構成され、かつ大きな積載容量を持つべく大
型に作られていても、安定な取付状態が確保され
る。さらにここで注目すべきことは、そのような
安定な取付状態が、実質的には上記支持板5と若
干の取付用ネジだけによつて達成されることであ
る。これにより大きな積載容量と負荷能力を得る
ことと量産適性および低コスト化の確保という互
いに背反する要求が簡単に両立させられる。

体2と支持板5の連結状態は一層確実になるとと
もに、箱体2の支持板5への取付作業もさらに簡
略化される。さらに、支持板5の先端部12が箱
体2のヒンジ部11の近傍に位置するため、特に
ヒンジ部11の付近が補強されて、このヒンジ部
11によつて軸支される蓋4の取付状態を一層安
定化せしめられ、かつその開閉を円滑なものとす
ることができる。従つて、大きな蓋部4を使用し
た場合も、そのグラツキは最小限に抑えることが
できる。
