Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve operational efficiency and yield of casting billet production by arranging a hook-member in a head-body and also a hanger-member in an auxiliary-member and detaching a dummy-bar from a casting billet by latching-off between both members. CONSTITUTION:The auxiliary-member 20 is arranged at end of molten steel side of the head-body 2 and installs the hanger-member 23 by a bolt 26. A supporting-member 4 is fixed in the head-body 2 and supports the hook-member 6 as shakable by a pin 5. The hook part 11 of the hook-member 6 is arranged as latching on and off with the hanger part 24 of the hanger-member 23. Molten metal is cooled and solidified at inner face of a mold and end face of the head 2 and then the casting billet 29 is connected with the auxiliary-member 20 and started to drawing by the dummy-bar 1. The detaching of the dummy-bar 1 from the casting billet 29 is execute by latching-off between the hook-member 6 and hanger-member. As detaching work from the casting billet 29 is simplified, the operational efficiency and yield of the casting billet production is improved.

The slab is poured from a nozzle installed at the bottom of the side wall of the tundish into a cylindrical mold with its longitudinal direction horizontal.A solidified shell is formed in the mold and the slab is horizontal with unsolidified molten steel inside. A person is drawn in a certain direction and makes a friend.

In this case, at the start of casting, the dummy bar is inserted approximately halfway into the mold, and then molten steel is poured into the mold. Then, after the molten steel solidifies to form a solidified shell and the solidified shell adheres to the dummy bar head, the dummy bar head is pulled horizontally to horizontally pull out the slab from the mold.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, the area near the dummy bar head of the slab is easily cooled and becomes low temperature due to heat being transferred to the dummy bar and the drawing speed at the start of #SS opening being slow. Cheap. For this reason, even if you try to separate the slab from the dummy bar by cutting the tip of the slab after pulling it to the shear cutting machine, the temperature of the slab in the area near the dummy bar head will drop too much and cutting will be difficult. Have difficulty. Therefore, conventionally, the area where the temperature has dropped too low is removed or cut manually with a gas torch.

However, cutting by removing areas where the temperature has dropped too much has the problem that the yield of slabs decreases. On the other hand, cutting with a gas torch requires a long time to cut, and is manual work. The process becomes complicated.

In particular, when cutting is extremely difficult at low temperatures, such as stainless steel, it is necessary to cut outside of the low temperature region, and dummy bar separation is a factor that significantly reduces the yield in the production of this main steel. It becomes. Note that in the vertical continuous casting machine or the curved continuous casting machine, a connected dummy bar is used, and the dummy bar and the slab can be easily separated. However, in the case of a horizontal continuous casting machine,
In order to prevent the slab from solidifying in the mold and becoming impossible to pull out, the dummy bar is moved intermittently by pulling it out for a predetermined stroke and then returning it in a direction that slightly pushes the slab into the mold. At the same time, the slab is being pulled from the mold. For this reason, a so-called connected type dummy bar with a large play cannot be used in a horizontal continuous casting machine.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and it is possible to separate the dummy bar and the slab at a high yield without manual cutting using a gas torch or the like. The purpose of this invention is to provide a dummy head for a horizontal continuous casting machine.

An auxiliary member 20 is provided at the end of the main body 2 on the molten steel (slab) side. The auxiliary member 20 has a protruding central portion, and a tapered portion 21 is formed between the central portion and the peripheral portion. A tapered part 12 is also formed on the end surface of the main body 2, and by overlapping the tapered part 12 and the tapered part 21 and arranging the auxiliary member 20 on the main body 2, the auxiliary member 2
0 can be engaged with the main body 2 so as not to move in its radial direction. A through hole 22 is formed in the center of the auxiliary member 20. The engaged member 23 is inserted into the through hole 22.
The auxiliary member 20 side end portion of the auxiliary member 20 is slidably inserted into the auxiliary member. An engaging portion 24 that can engage with the engaging portion 11 of the engaging piece 6 is formed at one end of the engaged member 23 on the engaging piece 6 side.

In the dummy barrel head of the horizontal continuous casting machine configured in this way, first, the tapered surface 21 of the auxiliary member 20 is overlapped with the tapered surface 12 of the main body 2, and the auxiliary member 20 is engaged with the main body 2, and the engaged With the bolt 26 screwed into the member 23, the engaged member 23 is fitted into the through hole 22 of the auxiliary member 20. Then, the engaging portion 24 of the engaged member 23 is connected to the engaging piece 6.
to engage with the engaging portion 11 of. As a result, the engagement piece 6
Since the compression spring 10 causes the swinging rod 8 to protrude outward and the engaging portion 11 is biased in the direction approaching the engaging portion 24, the engaging piece 6 and the engaged member 23 are reliably engaged. Then, the auxiliary member 20 and the main body 2 are connected. And bolt 2
6 is further tightened, the head of the bolt 26 is attached to the washer 27.
Since the engaged member 23 is held at a constant distance from the end face of the auxiliary member 20 by the lock nut 28, the engaged member 23 is drawn toward the bolt 26, that is, toward the molten slab. As a result, the engaging piece 6 and the engaged member 23 are extremely firmly connected, and the main body 32 and the auxiliary member 20 are integrally formed.

Then, the molten steel is cooled and solidified by the inner surface of the mold and the end face of the dummy bow head, and a solidified shell is formed. In this case, as shown in FIG. 1, the molten steel fills the outer end surface of the auxiliary member 20 so as to embed the bolt 26, and the slab 29 obtained by solidifying such molten steel has its end surface filled with the auxiliary member 20. It has a shape that follows the outer end surface of the member 20. When a predetermined solidified shell is formed, the dummy bar 1

The dummy bar 1 is pulled out by a predetermined stroke, then returned to the rear a little, and then pulled out, repeating an intermittent movement while being pulled toward the shear cutting machine 34 by the pinch rolls 33. . And mold 30
Molten steel is always supplied inside, and the supply and solidification of the molten steel are performed continuously, and the slab 29 is continuously drawn out, albeit intermittently. After the head of the slab 29 is bitten by the pinch roll 33, the operator pushes the swinging rod 8 to swing the engaging piece 6, thereby causing the engaging piece 6 to engage with the engaged member 23. cancel the connection. Then, the auxiliary member 20 separates from the head main body 2, and the auxiliary member 20 and the main body 2 are separated.

As a result, the dummy bar 1 connected to the main body 2 and the slab 29 to which the auxiliary member 20 is fixed are separated. From then on,
The slab 29 is directly pulled out and driven by the pinch rolls 33. The slab 29 is pulled out with the auxiliary member 20 attached to its head, and cut into predetermined lengths by a shear cutter 34. The auxiliary member 20 attached to the head of the slab that is first cut is cut in the vicinity of the end face of the head in a subsequent step after casting is completed.

The auxiliary member attached to the head of the slab after casting is cut near the end face of the slab head by an appropriate cutting machine in the subsequent process, so very few slabs are discarded due to cutting. Its yield is high. As described above, the present invention can improve the operational efficiency of horizontal continuous casting and increase the yield, and is particularly advantageous for expensive conventional types such as special steels such as stainless steel.
