On the other hand, a tricycle equipped with a prime mover has been proposed and put into practical use as a light vehicle, but the rear section containing the two wheels is wide and large, and the front section containing the single wheel is jointed to enable rolling. Such tricycles are generally larger than motorcycles, scooters, etc., have complex structures such as rolling joints on the front and rear bodies, and are heavy. The displacement of the motor is also correspondingly large. This is beyond the range of vehicles and therefore cannot solve the above problem.

The leaf springs 13, 13 have a narrow plate shape as shown in FIGS. 1 and 4, and the base portions 13a are connected to the left and right sides of the lower part of the seat of the vehicle body frame via the mounting portions 12 as described above, and are moved rearward. It extends and is set to a length from the rear end of the frame to this side. The rear end portion of each leaf spring 13 is a free end, and this portion is bent into a loop shape to form each pivot support 13b. As a result, the leaf springs 13, 13 are accommodated to such an extent that they protrude slightly from the width of the vehicle body frame 2 to both sides.

A rear axle 15, which is a drive shaft, is installed transversely between the shaft supports 13b, 13b of each leaf spring 13, and both ends of the axle 15 are made to protrude outward from each shaft support 13b. The hub 4a of the rear wheel 4 is tied together. That is, the left and right rear wheels 4 are supported by the extending ends of each leaf spring 13, and the leaf springs 13 constitute a suspension member.
Therefore, the base 13a of the leaf spring 13 is tied to the frame side, and the rear wheel side is the free end, and the rear wheel 4 can elastically move up and down using the base 13a as a fulcrum, and is similar to a trailing arm but independent. This constitutes a suspension system that is close to suspension.

In addition to this, each leaf spring 13 of the axle 15
The support of the shaft support 13b is performed by interposing a mount rubber 17 between the inner diameter portion of the shaft support 13b and the holder 16 of the corresponding portion of the shaft 15. As a result, the left and right rear wheels 4 are elastically suspended from the vehicle body by the leaf springs 13, and are also elastically supported by the leaf springs 13, increasing the damping effect of the rear wheels.
In addition, the mount rubber is used to effectively follow the left and right rear wheels during cornering. Since the rear wheel is cantilever supported by the leaf spring 13, in addition to the above-mentioned trailing arm type effect, the length of the leaf spring 13 can be made as short as possible while extending rearward. It is possible to increase the vertical suspension stroke while keeping the length short. This allows the wheelbase to be shortened in relation to the front wheels 3.

It is installed in the part facing h. At the top of the engine 18, brackets 18a are installed spaced apart from side to side, and these brackets 18a, 18a are connected to the lower ends of a pair of suspension plates 22, 22 via mount rubbers 21, respectively, with bolts and nuts 23. Supported. On the other hand, a bracket 24 is suspended from the lower surface of the rear part 2e of the frame 2, and a mounting pin 26 is installed across the center of the bracket 24 via a mount rubber 25. , the pin 26 is shown as a bolt,

As a result, the unit 20 is housed in the downwardly open space 2h of the frame rear part 2e, and is suspended and supported from the frame 2 by the mount rubber. The mount rubber is supported at three points: two points 21, 21 on the unit 20 side and one point 25 on the frame 2 side, and the unit 20 is supported by the movement of the rear wheels 4, 4.
The system smoothly follows the engine front and rear, left and right, and up and down, elastically supports and protects the engine, and allows the power unit type engine to follow the engine when cornering. Furthermore, the vibrations of the rear wheel 4 and the engine 18 are effectively damped through the mount rubber, and the vibration damping effect is also excellent.

In addition to the above, the mount portion of the unit 20 is disposed at the middle part in the width direction between the rear wheels 4, 4, and approximately at the middle part in the length direction of the leaf spring 13, as shown in FIG. The power unit, which is a heavy item, was mounted effectively, improving space utilization, and was mounted in a position that was favorable from the standpoint of rigidity in terms of layout. Since the unit is disposed midway between the left and right rear wheels 4, 4, the left and right balance at the rear of the vehicle is favorable, and inertia during cornering can be effectively dealt with.

Furthermore, the unit 20 including the engine 18 is
It is coupled to the previously described rear axle 15. That is, the axle 15
is divided into two parts 15a and 15b in the axial direction, and each is coupled on the same axis to output shaft parts 19a and 19b protruding from both sides of the transmission case 19 at the rear of the unit 20. The engine and axle are thus connected to form a power unit integrated with the axle. The unit 20 is disposed on the axle of the rear wheels 4, 4, and the unit 20 is disposed on the axle at an intermediate position in the vertical and horizontal directions. Therefore, the unit 20 including the engine 18 is installed at a low position in the frame, and the center of gravity is lowered, which lowers the center of gravity where the rider rides on the seat 5 like in a scooter, thereby preventing adverse effects such as inertia during cornering and improving stability. can significantly improve performance. Furthermore, since the unit and the axle are connected on the same axis, it is extremely advantageous in terms of space, and the structure is extremely simplified, such as not requiring a transmission system.

As detailed above, according to the present invention, in order to obtain a motorized four-wheeled vehicle similar to a two-wheeled vehicle, the suspension and mount of the rear wheel and power unit can be elastically and effectively supported within a limited space. It can be achieved with a simple structure using the smallest number of parts. In addition, the width of the vehicle is made approximately equal to the seat, and leaf springs are extended below the seat on both sides, and the left and right rear wheels are cantilever-supported by these. This allows for sufficient tread in a limited space, while also allowing the front wheels to The wheelbase between can be set as short as possible,
Although it has four wheels, its external dimensions can be kept to the same level as a motorized two-wheeled vehicle, and it is small, lightweight,
It is possible to achieve simplification and obtain a vehicle that is easy to handle and operate. Furthermore, by directly connecting the axle and engine, the center of gravity is lowered as much as possible, improving the stability of a scooter-like vehicle, making it easy to maneuver and providing a stable vehicle, while also opening the frame downward. Since the engine is arranged in a channel-like space, it is extremely convenient for protecting the engine and utilizing space, and is also preferable for cooling the engine. Furthermore, since the front wheel is placed horizontally and supported by two leaf springs sandwiching the frame, it serves both as a suspension for the front wheel and provides effective elastic support with a minimum number of parts. The front wheel camber is also securely maintained.
