The present invention uses a roll coater to apply a high viscosity paint to the entire surface of the irregularities on various embossed pattern base materials, and then applies the same high viscosity paint only to the convex parts to make the sense of sharp angles and irregularities stronger. This invention relates to a method of adding an embossed pattern to a base material to enhance its design. Conventionally, embossed patterned decorative boards have simply been made by uniformly applying flat paint to an embossed patterned substrate. The decorative board produced in this manner had a monotonous embossed pattern with sharp edges, solid texture, and irregularities. Furthermore, if only the base material is embossed, there is a limit to the sharpness of the embossing due to the performance of the base material. The present invention uses the conventional embossed pattern base material as it is, without changing the material of the base material, and by using paint only on a part of the pattern structure, it improves performance.
The purpose is to gain economic advantage. The structure of the present invention will be explained in detail below based on the drawings. That is, first, the embossed pattern base material 1 shown in FIG.
(Hereinafter referred to as base material 1), high viscosity paint 2 is applied using a direct roll coater regardless of unevenness.
Paint the entire surface as shown in Figure 2. The coating conditions at this time include neoprene rubber, butyl rubber,
Nitrile rubber, etc., and the rubber hardness is generally 10° to 50° as measured by JIS spring type hardness tester type A.
Desirably, the angle should be 20° to 40°, and the condition should be foamed rubber or non-foamed rubber, either smooth or grooved, and the spacing between the coating roll and back-up roll during painting should be as shown in Figure 1. Same width as the valley depth of the embossed pattern shown, 2-3m/
m and the amount of paint applied is dry.
Apply 0.1 to 0.8 Kg/m 2 , preferably 0.2 to 0.4 Kg/m 2 and use it as a base coat. In this state, it may be dried once and then moved to the next step, or it may be moved to the next step without drying. In the next step, as shown in FIG. 3, a high viscosity paint 2 is mainly applied to the convex portions of the base material 1 having an embossed pattern using a direct roll coater or a reverse roll coater. As for the coating conditions at this time, the material of the coating roll is neoprene rubber, butyl rubber, nitrile rubber, etc., and the rubber hardness is 10 as measured by JIS spring hardness tester type A.
The angle should be 90° to 90°, preferably 20° to 60°, and the condition should be foamed rubber or non-foamed rubber, either smooth or grooved. The spacing between the coating roll and the back pull roll during painting should be as shown in Figure 2. The height of the ridges of the embossed pattern shown in Figure 1 should be the same as or within ±2 m/m of it, and the amount of paint applied should be 0.1 to 0.8 Kg/m 2 in terms of the area of the ridges in the dry state, preferably 0.2 ~0.4Kg/ m2 to be painted. Clay flat paint 3 of 30PS or less after drying in this state
You can apply a finishing coat uniformly with air spray, etc., or apply a final coat to remove the minute irregularities formed on the peaks of the embossed pattern (as shown in Figure 3) using a roll press or sheet press method, etc. without drying. As shown in Figure 4,
The convex top is formed on a flat surface and then dried to 30PS
The product is made by applying a final coat of flat paint 3 having the following viscosity using an air spray or the like. A direct roll coater referred to in the present application is one in which the rotation direction of the roll and the direction of movement of the object to be coated are the same, and a reverse roll coater is one in which the direction of rotation of the roll and the direction of movement of the object to be coated are opposite. In the present invention, a roping pattern can be created on an embossed pattern base material by using a rubber roll with rubber elasticity and combining a high viscosity paint with a direct roll coater. Even if a high viscosity paint is used in combination with a reverse roll coater, even if the distance between the surface of the convex portions of the embossed pattern base material and the surface of the coating roll is adjusted, the paint tends to fill in the valleys and does not lead to an emphasis on the design. In the second painting, after forming the roping pattern, we want to apply the paint only to the convex parts, so the distance between the coating roll and the convex parts of the embossed pattern must be 0 or ±2 m/m. It is.
The rubber hardness of the coating roll at this time may be slightly harder than that of the rubber roll used for the first coating. Also,
The reason why a direct roll coater or a reverse roll coater can be used for the second coating is to prevent the roll from digging into the embossed pattern leading to the recesses of the pattern. The embossed pattern decorative board A shown in FIG. 5 made by the present invention is different from the embossed pattern decorative board B coated with only the flat paint 3 shown in FIG. 6 by the conventional method.
First, the depth from the peaks to the valleys of the embossed patterned decorative board is larger, the changes from valley to peak or from the peak to the valley become sharper, and the embossed decorative board has a higher viscosity. Due to the viscosity of the paint, which has a thixotropic index value in the range of 2.0 to 8.0 according to JIS K-6838, new unevenness due to minute roping is formed even in the valleys. , a new sensory change is imparted. The embossed pattern decorative board A of the present invention shown in FIG. 5 produced in this manner has a very superior aesthetic appearance compared to the embossed pattern decorative board B made by the conventional method shown in FIG. It embodies excellent cosmetic properties with depth and natural taste. Examples of the present invention and comparative examples will be shown below. Example As an example, a paint with the composition shown in the table as a high viscosity paint was applied to a commercially available "Kankabe" stucco-like embossed pattern base material manufactured by Toray Grassal Co., Ltd., with a neoprene sponge rubber - rubber hardness of 20 degrees by JISA type. Using a direct roll coater using a coating roll of 0.2Kg/ m2 (dry weight) over the entire surface of the embossed pattern base material. Examples of high-precision paint formulations (table) (parts by weight) Synthetic polymer emulsion resin 25 Calcium carbonate 50 Titanium oxide 6 Additives such as activators 2 Thickeners such as methyl cellulose 1 Water 16 total 100 Then, dry the above paint film After that, apply the same paint with a similar direct roll coater to only the convex parts of the embossed pattern base material at a dry weight of 0.3 kg/ m2 , and while it is not drying and hardening, lightly press the paint film on the embossed pattern convex parts with a roller. to form a flat surface. After drying and solidifying the paint film, a low viscosity flat paint is then applied by dry weight using air spray.
100g/m 2 was applied and the coating was dried. Table 2 shows the evaluation of the decorative board made as described above. Comparative Example 1 Low viscosity flat paint was air-sprayed onto the same ``Kankabe'' stucco-like embossed pattern base material manufactured by Toray Grassal as in the example, with a dry weight of 100 g/m 2
The entire surface was coated in two separate coats to create an embossed decorative board using the conventional method. Table 2 shows the evaluation of the decorative boards made as follows. Comparative Example 2 First, a 170PS high viscosity paint was applied to the same ``Kankabe'' stucco style embossed pattern base material made by Toray Grassal as in Example using a high viscosity gun, and a dry weight of 0.5Kg/ m2 was applied. Next, apply the same high viscosity paint at 0.8Kg/ m2 in a large pattern, press the newly formed uneven pattern with a roller, dry once, and then dry with low viscosity flat paint using air spray. 100 in weight
g/m 2 was applied to the entire surface to create a decorative board with an embossed pattern. Table 2 shows the evaluation of the decorative board obtained above.
