置において、一方のガラス基板上に各々カラーフ
イルターを有する複数の帯状電極を形成すると共
に、他方のガラス基板上に表示されるべきパター
ンの外形形状より少なくとも大きな面積を有する
セグメント電極を形成し、該パターンと同形状の
透過孔が形成されている遮光マスクを介してパタ
ーン表示が行なわれるように構成されていること
