Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the time for pickling by providing a vacuum chamber to the upper stream of an acid tank so that the scale on the material to be pickled passing the inside of the chamber can be peeled by the expansion of the air, etc., intruding into the fine cracks of the scale. CONSTITUTION:The vacuum chamber 14 is provided on the upper stream of the acid tank 2 of a device in which the material 1 to be pickled is introduced into said chamber 14. The air, etc., intruded into the scale on the surface of the material 1 expand in said chamber and the scale is peeled; at the same time, new cracks are generated therein. The time for pickling is thus shortened.

An example of a conventional continuous pickling device is shown in Fig. 5.b In Fig. 5, 1 is a steel strip, 2 is an acid tank, 3 is an acid solution, 4a, 4b
, 4c, 4d, and 4e are guide rolls. After being unwound from a payoff reel (not shown), the steel strip 1 at room temperature is immersed in the acid solution 3 in the acid tank 2 while running, and the scale that has formed on the surface of the steel strip is removed by the acid solution 3. The steel strip 1 that has been pickled, removed, and descaled comes out of the acid tank 2 and is supplied to a subsequent process (not shown).

Continuous pickling equipment requires the surface of the copper strip to be in contact with the acid solution for a certain period of time, so if the copper strip travels at a high speed, a correspondingly long acid tank is required.

By the way, as a measure to shorten the length of the acid tank, conventionally the copper strip was connected to a mechanical scale breaker before being immersed in the silica tank.
This can be done by passing it through the copper strip to create fine racks on the scale to make it easier to remove the scale, or by exposing the copper strip to a jet of acid solution in an acid tank to shorten the reaction time. We are achieving results. Even so, the length of the acid tank is required to be 50 to 100 m, and therefore the equipment cost is high and a large installation space is required, so there is a strong need to shorten the acid tank.

An object of the present invention is to provide a continuous pickling device that can shorten the time required for pickling and, as a result, shorten the length of the acid tank used.

As a means for achieving the above object, the present invention includes a vacuum chamber upstream of the acid tank, and after the copper strip passes through the vacuum chamber, the copper strip is introduced into the acid tank and subjected to pickling treatment. It is something. That is, the present invention provides a continuous pickling apparatus for continuously pickling materials to be pickled, which includes a vacuum chamber upstream of an acid tank, and pickles the materials in the acid tank after passing through the vacuum chamber. This is a continuous pickling device characterized by the following features:

According to the present invention, the moment the copper strip enters the vacuum chamber, gas such as air or liquid such as water that has entered the scale on the surface of the copper strip or the crank of the scale is removed.
As it expands or evaporates, its volume rapidly increases, causing scale flaking and new cracks to form.
Therefore, when the steel strip leaving the vacuum chamber is pickled in an acid tank, the pickling time can be shortened.

According to the pickling apparatus according to the present invention, the moment the steel strip is exposed to a vacuum, the scale on the surface of the steel strip or the air that has entered the rack due to the fineness of the scale rapidly expands.
Or, the hot water that has entered the rack due to fine scale during immersion in the hot water tank evaporates the moment it is exposed to the vacuum, and its volume expands rapidly, causing the scale to peel off and new cracks to form. Washing time becomes shorter.
