[Detailed description of the invention] The invention uses a transmission type field-effect nematic liquid crystal display (hereinafter referred to as a liquid crystal display) between a white light source and a film surface, and uses this display as a data source. The present invention relates to a camera data imprinting device.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a data imprinting device that solves the above-mentioned drawbacks by examining the spectral transmission characteristics of a liquid crystal display and filtering out wavelengths with low contrast from white light.

以下、本考案の好適な1実施例を図面に即して
説明する。
Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 is a block diagram of the main parts of the data imprinting device of the present invention. The light from the white light source L passes through a sharp cut filter 1, which will be described later, and absorbs visible light of a predetermined wavelength or less, thereby illuminating the liquid crystal display 2. The light transmitted through the liquid crystal display 2 passes through the opening 3a of the film pressure plate 3 and reaches a predetermined position on the film 4 located on the film surface. Data imprinting is possible with the above configuration. The back cover 5 accommodates the data imprinting device configured as described above.

Now, FIG. 2 shows an example of spectral transmission characteristics when a field effect type twisted nematic liquid crystal is used as a liquid crystal display. FIG. 3 shows the contrast of the display obtained from FIG. From FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, it is clear that the contrast is low in the wavelength range of 400 to 500 nm, and the contrast is high in the wavelength range of 540 to 700 nm, with the wavelength around 530 nm as the boundary. And its contrast ratio is also 530
It is large at ~700nm.

Therefore, in this example, sharp cut filter 1
The critical wavelength for transmission and absorption may be appropriately selected from wavelengths of about 530 nm or more (an example is shown in FIG. 4). As the wavelength becomes longer, the amount of light that can be used for data imprinting decreases, but it is sufficient to increase the intensity of the light source L by that amount. What is important here is that the filter has the property of cutting visible light at shorter wavelengths than a predetermined wavelength, and this predetermined critical wavelength is determined not only by contrast but also by taking into account other conditions. It must be.

Next, we conducted a live-action test to test the effectiveness of Sharp Cut Filter 1, and found that
Good results were obtained with both color films (negative and positive). Incidentally, in the case of a black and white film, when the critical wavelength of the sharp cut filter was selected in the range of 500 to 560 nm, an improvement in contrast of about 3 to 4 EV was obtained due to the difference in density compared to when no filter was used. Also, with color film, the difference in density is 1~
An improvement in contrast of about 3EV was observed.

Incidentally, instead of sharp cut filter 1, a fifth filter is used.
Among the components of the liquid crystal display shown in the figure, it is conceivable to color the polarizing plates 20, 21 or the glass plates 23, 24 for enclosing the liquid crystal substance 22 so as to have the characteristics of a sharp cut filter. It is also conceivable to color the liquid crystal material 22 so that it has this filter characteristic. 25 is a transparent electrode, and 26 is a spacer.

According to the present invention as described above, it is possible to image the display on the liquid crystal display onto a film with good contrast.
