A display window member 8 that is more transparent than the surface is inserted and bonded. The reason why the small hole 6 was formed is because the adhesive margin 10 is required. Note that 12 is a black masking print or a masking member attached to the periphery of the back surface of the display window member 8, and 14 is a liquid crystal display arranged inside.

Also, there was a problem in that the exterior of the camera became thicker by the thickness of the adhesive margin 10.

Step-shaped holes 22 and 24 are formed in the display window member 0, and a peripheral protrusion 28 for adhesion is also formed in the display window member 26. Note that 30 is a black masking print attached to the periphery of the back surface of the display window member 26, and 32 is a liquid crystal display disposed inside.

In addition, since the peripheral protrusion 28 is formed as an adhesion margin on the display window member 26, which can be formed into any shape using transparent plastic, etc., the step (peripheral protrusion 28) for adhesion is not so thick. ), and the camera exterior can be made thinner than the one shown in FIG.

The problem arises that the image becomes unsightly as it shines white. or,
As shown in the figure, when there is a strong light source such as the sun from behind the user (photographer), the outer peripheral surface 26a
The white reflection will appear as a white band on the display surface of the liquid crystal display 32, making the display very difficult to read if the contrast is weak in a light-receiving display such as a liquid crystal.

といえる。 In order to prevent reflections on the outer circumferential surface 26a of the display window member 26, it has been proposed that the outer circumferential surface 26a be painted black. It is difficult to perform smear painting, and in reality, it has to be done manually using a brush, which is difficult to implement due to cost issues and yield issues. Also,
Even if the above-mentioned smear painting is performed, it is necessary to form a film in such a way that light is absorbed by the smudges, and it can be said that there are quite a number of restrictions on the implementation of this proposal.

A display device for an optical instrument, in which a display window member of the shape of a shape is fixed, an electro-optical display device is arranged inside the window member, and a mask is further formed at a peripheral position between the exterior cover and the window member, The circumferential surface of the hole and the small area side of the display window member is tilted at an angle θ such that n sin (θ−90°) = sinθ1 [n is the refractive index of the display window member, and θ1 is the effective viewing angle]. The present invention is characterized in that the display plane is used as a reference plane and the circumferential surface has an obtuse angle.

Similar to the conventional structure described above, this display device is also arranged at the exterior cover of the camera in order to display camera information. A display window member 46 made of transparent acrylic resin or the like is fitted and adhered from the back side of the camera exterior cover 40. That is, the camera exterior cover 40 is formed with an inclined hole 42 and a large hole 44, and the display window member 46 is also formed with an outer peripheral surface 46a that coincides with the inclined hole 42 and a peripheral protrusion 48 for adhesion. Note that 50 is a low-reflectance black masking print attached to the periphery of the back surface of the display window member 46, and 52 is a liquid crystal display disposed inside.

る。 That is, the feature of the present invention is that the outer circumferential surface 46a is formed at an obtuse angle θ with the display plane of the display window member 46 as a reference plane.
The light directly reflected by the liquid crystal display 6a and the light once reflected from the display surface of the liquid crystal display 52 and reaching the outer peripheral surface 46 are not reflected in the eyes of the user (photographer). The method of determining the inclination angle θ here should be determined in relation to the effective viewing angle θ 1 of the present display device.
That is, if the refractive index of the material of the display window member with respect to air is n, then for the effective viewing angle θ 1 of the display,
Inclination angle θ defined by nsinθ 2 = sinθ 1 (θ 2 = θ−90°)
It is sufficient to form an inclination of (θ 2 +90°) or more on the outer circumferential surface 46a of the display window member 46. To explain specifically, the effective viewing angle of the normal liquid crystal display 52 is
Approximately 45 degrees is practically sufficient, and since the display window member 46 is made of acrylic resin in the embodiment, assuming that the refractive index n≈1.5, the inclination angle θ can be determined by the following equation.
θ2≒28.5゜となり、θ=(θ2+90゜)なので、∴
θ≒118.5゜となる。 Since θ 2 ≒28.5° and θ = (θ 2 +90°), ∴
θ≒118.5°.

Note that if the inclination angle θ is formed to this extent, the inclined hole 42 of the camera exterior cover 40 and the outer circumferential surface 46a of the display window member 46 will not have sharp edges or inclined surfaces, so it is easy to avoid manufacturing problems. be understood.

It is. This embodiment has almost the same structure as the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 above except for the frame 60, and the effects of the present invention are also the same, so the same reference numerals will be used and detailed explanation will be omitted.

It does not need to be formed around the entire circumference, but in the case of a camera where the user (photographer) holds the camera, it is necessary to form it around the user's eye position when the display device is placed. Accordingly, only a specific surface needs to be formed.
