Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a cooling effect for a friction surface as well as to make the preservation and maintenance control of a braking mechanism ever so better, by leading a lower end of a ventilating duct into the friction surface between a disc rotor and a friction material, and applying ventilating air directly to this friction surface for cooling. CONSTITUTION:An air intake 2 being opened in hornlike form is attached to one end of a ventilating duct, which is opened to a front grille of a car and so designed as to take in air with an advance of the car. In this case, the other end side of the duct 1 is led into the vicinity of a friction surface between a disc rotor 3 and a friction material 4. And, ventilating air 5 is directly applied to the friction surface between both 3 and 4 from a tip opening of the duct 1, making it possible to be cooled. With this constitution, the friction surface between the disc rotor 3 and the friction material 4 can be concentratively cooled. Therefore, stabilization in braking effectiveness of the car and improvement in abrasion resistance in the friction material 4, etc., are made attainable.

冷却しブレーキ効力の安定、摩擦材の耐摩耗性向上を目
的とした車輌のブレーキ冷却装置に関するものである。
