Claims (1)
に前方向から衝撃荷重が作用した場合にステアリ
ングコラムの脱落にともないステアリングホイー
ルの後方突出を防止する衝撃吸収機構が装着され
るとともに、ステアリングシヤフトに外筒とこの
外筒の内部に軸方向に摺動可能に嵌着された内部
構成部材とを備えた摺動機構部を形成し、ステア
リングホイール側からステアリングシヤフト側に
作用する2次衝突時の衝撃力を前記摺動機構部の
摺動動作によつて吸収するステアリング装置にお
いて、前記摺動機構部が所定の長さ以上に伸長す
る伸長動作を規制するストツパを設け、車体に前
方向から衝撃荷重が作用した場合にこの衝撃荷重
を前記車体床面の下降動作にともない前記摺動機
構部を介して前記衝撃吸収機構側に伝達可能にし
