Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate restrictions on the range of observation due to an obstacle by equipping an inspection car with image guide feeding and winding mechanisms and moving a direct visual type image guide to a position for observing via a guide pipe preliminarily laid extending to a checking position. CONSTITUTION:For a checking object 14 refusing observation by a TV camera 2 mounted on a moving inspection car 1 due to an obstacle such as a pipe 13, a guide pipe 12 is preliminarily laid, extending to a position permitting observation. The inspection car 1 is stopped at a predetermined position under the guide pipe 12 and starts to insert a direct visual type image guide 8 in the guide pipe 12 by the help of an image guide winding mechanism 9 and a feed mechanism 10. When the image guide 8 has reached the tip of the guide pipe 12, the checking object 14 is observed and displayed on a monitor through a TV camera 11 for the image guide 8. Thereafter, the direct visual type image guide 8 is wound and shifted to another checking position. Consequently, observation can be carried out without any restriction due to an obstacle.

[Problem that Hatsu EJJ is trying to solve] Since the conventional parent-child inspection robot (auxiliary observation device) is configured as described above, the size of the gas balloon becomes large.
There are restrictions on the height at which a gas balloon can float due to equipment conditions such as piping and gratings. In addition, there were problems such as the explosion of gas balloons and the safety of gas storage (both of which needed to be taken into consideration).
