Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain wt. reduction, the reduction in the number of machining processes and the formation of soft paint mist, by respectively forming the outer part and inner part of an air cap main body from a thin plate material by press molding and subsequently integrating both parts by engagement under pressure. CONSTITUTION:The outer part 1 and inner part 5 of an air cap are respectively molded into a desired shape by applying press processing to a thin flat plate through several stages. In the assembling of both parts 1, 5, the projection 6 of the inner part 5 is inserted in the through-hole 2 at the center part of the outer part 1 under pressure and, at the same time, the rear flange part 8 of the inner part 5 is inserted in the rear inner peripheral part 1a of the outer part 1 under pressure to integrate the respective center parts and outer peripheral parts of both parts 1, 5 in a closely contacted state. At last, the front surface 6a of the projection of the inner part 5 is cut to form a central hole 9 to obtain the air cap 10 having a large inner air volume.

<Prior art> This type of spray air cap, which has been commonly used, is used to atomize the liquid ejected to the tip of the spray gun body, as shown in Fig. 6, and to atomize the atomized liquid. The main purpose is to introduce compressed air to change the pattern. It has a particularly important function in air spray guns.

Until now, this air cap has been formed by casting, forging, cutting from a round bar, etc. For this reason, the weight is heavy, and if a hand gun is used as an air spray gun, the fatigue during painting work will be large, and painting workers are demanding a lighter weight. Also, in the case of an automatic gun, if the weight of the air cap is large, the inertial force generated when swinging the automatic gun will also be large, which will add an impact force correspondingly, which will hinder the smooth movement of the equipment. This can lead to poor finish on painted surfaces and equipment failure. Furthermore, in the case of air caps manufactured using conventional molds, the wall thickness could not be made very thin due to pressure resistance factors, and as a result, the internal volume of the air gap could not be made large. Therefore, it is somewhat difficult to create a softer paint mist. Also, if the air gap is made by cutting a round bar,
The processing steps were also complicated and it was difficult to reduce the cost of the air cap for the spray gun.

<Problems to be solved by the invention> The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and its objectives are, firstly, to reduce the weight, and secondly, to reduce the number of machining steps. Thirdly, the present invention provides an air cap for a spray gun that satisfies the above three points by providing a soft paint mist.

Means for Solving the Problems> The present invention involves molding the air cap body of a spray gun with a thin plate into an outer part and an inner part by press working, and then sealingly press-fitting the inner part into the outer part. The configuration forms an integral air cap. For this reason, we have reduced the weight of the air cap and the number of machining steps.
In addition to reducing costs, it reduces fatigue during painting work, reduces the inertia force when a spray gun is installed in an automatic machine, and alleviates the impact force.Furthermore, by increasing the internal volume of the air cap, a soft paint mist can be obtained. , it is possible to increase the coating efficiency.

In Figures 1 to 6, reference numeral 1 denotes a part of the outer part of the air cap, and the outer part l is formed from a thin plate through several stages of press working, and a through hole 2 is formed in the center of the outer part l. It has corner protrusions 3.3 arranged vertically or horizontally symmetrically toward the front. Additionally, threaded portions 4 are provided at three locations on the rear outer periphery, which can be formed simultaneously during press working. 5
is the inner part of the air cap, and the inner part 5 also has a protrusion 6 with a U-shaped cross section in the center of the front by pressing a thin plate in several stages, and a protrusion 6 with a U-shaped cross section on the rear outer periphery from the spray gun body to the air cap. It has about six holes 7 for introducing the supplied compressed air into the center hole or the square holes, and is formed so that the rear collar 8 is bent forward and around the circumference.

<Effects of the Invention> The structure is formed by processing, and the inner part is press-fitted into the outer part and fixed, making the central part and rear outer layer airtight, which eliminates the need for conventional molding, forging, and It is easier to manufacture than those formed by machine cutting from a round bar. Moreover, the volume of the space between the inner part and the 7th outer part is increased, and the volume of the space between the paint nozzle and the inner part is also increased, which reduces the weight of the air cap, reducing work fatigue and impact. The force can be alleviated and the life of the equipment can be extended. Furthermore, the volume of the space between the inner part and the outer part can be increased, and the volume of the space between the paint nozzle and the inner part can also be increased. The force of spraying is also reduced, the sprayed paint mist is softer, there is less scattering, and as a result, the coating film becomes smoother and the coating efficiency can be increased. In addition, since this main processing can be done by press working, there are almost no parts to be machined, leading to a reduction in the number of processing steps, which has the effect of reducing costs. The liquid handled by the spray gun of the present invention includes not only paint but also adhesives, other chemicals, and the like.
