形成するための装置を示す説明図、第３図は多孔
質石英ガラス母材を加熱しガラス化するための装
置を示す説明図である。 図中、１１は種棒、１２は柄部、１３は拡径部
、１４は中空部、１５は通気孔、３０は多孔質石
英ガラス母材、４２はヒータ、４３は石英ガラス
、４４は気泡、Ａは最大径部である。

Claims (1)

  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 (1) 珪素化合物を酸水素炎中で加水分解して出
    発部材にシリカ微粒子を付着、堆積せしめて多孔
    質石英ガラス母材を形成し、この多孔質石英ガラ
    ス母材を加熱してガラス化する際に、前記出発部
    材として用いられる種棒において、棒状の柄部の
    下端部にこの柄部よりも径の大きい拡径部が形成
    され、前記柄部および前記拡径部はいずれも中空
    とされ、前記拡径部には外部から前記中空部に連
    通する複数の通気孔が形成されていることを特徴
    とする石英ガラス製造用種棒。 (2) 実用新案登録請求の範囲第１項において、
    前記通気孔は前記拡径部の最大径部よりも下部に
    形成されている石英ガラス製造用種棒。 (3) 実用新案登録請求の範囲第１項において、
    前記通気孔の径は２〜３mmとされている石英ガラ
    ス製造用種棒。 (4) 実用新案登録請求の範囲第１項において、
    前記拡径部の最大径部よりも下部において、前記
    通気孔による開孔率は２〜１０％である石英ガラ
    ス製造用種棒。
