A device having an automatic warehouse function in which a large number of storage shelves for storing magnetic tape cartridges inserted from the outside are arranged side by side, and the magnetic tape cartridges in the storage shelves are automatically taken out inside as necessary and transported to a predetermined position. The shelf board of the storage rack is provided so as to be rotatable about its outer end as a fulcrum, and is actuated at a predetermined time to position the shelf board in a horizontal first position and a downwardly inclined second position. A storage pad is provided at an inner end of the storage shelf and protrudes upwardly from the fence plate at the first position to lock the magnetic tape cartridge on the shelf plate inward so as to be removable.
