It consists of a number of thin cartridges that house disks inside and have a shutter attached to one end to open and close the head insertion opening, and a number of horizontal storage shelves arranged vertically in parallel. A vertically elongated stocker in which a large number of cartridges are horizontally inserted and stored in each storage shelf from the shutter side at one end, and a large number of cartridges are arranged at the bottom or top of the stocker. A player is configured to write information to and read information from a disk in the cartridge by being selectively supplied horizontally from the shutter side at one end, and a cartridge selectively pulled out from the stocker is placed on the front side of the stocker.
