As shown in Fig. 1, a conventional AC timer connects a relay coil Ry and a time-limited switching output terminal Tt of a timer circuit T in series to a commercial AC power supply E via a diode D. The power terminal Te of the timer circuit T is connected to the midpoint between the diode D and the relay coil Ry via a voltage drop resistor R for supplying low voltage direct current, and a smoothing capacitor C is connected in parallel. .

In such conventional AC timers, the AC power supply E is often 100v or 200v, while the timer circuit T requires DC 5v to 12v, so it is essential to obtain a particularly small AC timer. In a transformerless AC timer, the voltage is dropped by the resistor R. In this case, if a low impedance IC is used in the timer circuit, several milliamperes are required, and the resistor R generates a lot of heat, and the smoothing capacitor is used. The drawback was that the life of C was shortened.

In addition, when using an electronic timer circuit T that controls a switching element by detecting the voltage of a time limit circuit consisting of a CR charging circuit with a trigger element, the timer circuit T operates at several mA. Therefore, if the AC power source E is applied through a control means consisting of control contacts connected in parallel to the CR protection circuit or a switch element with leakage current, the timer circuit will malfunction due to the leakage current. There was a problem. Furthermore, when restoring a timer circuit that has once operated, if the AC voltage E is cut off slowly and the applied voltage gradually decreases, the output relay will return with a relatively high open voltage; A timer circuit operating at a low voltage does not recover immediately, and if voltage is applied again in this state, the timer circuit T is already on, so the relay will operate immediately and normal time-limiting operation will not occur. There was a problem that it was not done.

When the AC power supply E is applied, the current I 1 flowing into the timer circuit T is the voltage V 1 due to the Zener diode.
On the other hand, the current I 1 flows only during the period in which the power supply voltage increases, and the voltage stepped down by the constant voltage element 1 is applied to the power supply terminal Te.

As explained above, according to the AC timer of the present invention, the relay coil Ry is connected in series to the time-limited switching output terminal Tt of the timer circuit T to the AC power source E through the diode D, and the smoothing capacitor C is connected in parallel. The power supply terminal Te of the timer circuit T is connected to the midpoint between the diode D and the relay coil Ry through a series circuit of a constant voltage element 1 and a resistor R, and the voltage is stepped down by the constant voltage element 1. Therefore, the heat generation can be significantly reduced compared to the heat generated by the step-down resistor as in the conventional example, and there is no adverse effect on the smoothing capacitor C, and a long-life AC timer can be obtained.

Furthermore, even if an AC voltage is applied through a control means that has a leakage current, the constant voltage element can prevent leakage current from flowing into the timer circuit. Since the operation of the timer circuit can be stopped before the relay of This also has the effect of preventing malfunctions.
