ク)からの取出し作業または輸送容器への収納作
業を行なう燃料取扱いプール2とが設けられ、こ
れらが移送水路3によつて結ばれている。そし
て、貯蔵プール1および水路3を含む燃料貯蔵エ
リアと取扱いプール2を含む燃料取扱いエリアと
の間には、核物質防護、換気空調および耐震性等
の観点から、隔壁4が設置される。したがつて、
このような施設では、取扱いプール2および水路
3の一方から他方へ、隔壁4を潜つて燃料貯蔵バ
スケツトを移動する装置が必要になる。このよう
な移動装置として、第2図に示すように、隔壁4
の水中部分に開口5が設けられ、取扱いプール2
から開口5を通つて水路3に至るレール6がこれ
らの底に設けられ、このレール6上に移動台車7
が載せられ、クレーン(図示略)によつて台車7
に載せられた燃料貯蔵バスケツトAを、台車7に
より、取扱いプール2および水路3の一方から他
方へ移動するものが知られている。ところが、こ
のような装置では、台車7等の主要可動部が取扱
いプール2および水路3の底部の水中にあるた
め、保守、点検、修理等の作業が困難であり、さ
らに水底部では他の部分に比べてとくに放射能が

片側に、略垂直回転軸14が、隔壁12の片面に
固定された軸受15を介して支持されている。こ
の回転軸14の上部は、水面Lより上方に突出
し、隔壁12の水面Lより上方にある部分に適宜
な手段により固定された駆動装置16に連結され
ている。回転軸14の下部には、開口13に対応
する燃料貯蔵バスケツトAの保持部17が固定さ
れている。この保持部17は、回転軸14から側
方に突出し、回転軸14の回転によつて、取扱い
プール10および水路11の一方から、開口13

ツトAを挿入したままにしておき、取扱いプール
10および水路11の一方において、燃料をバス
ケツトA内に挿入し、回転軸14を180゜回転し
てこれを他方に移動した後、燃料だけを取出すよ
