Spent fuel at spent fuel storage facilities is usually handled underwater, as its radioactivity is extremely high, using water as a shield. As shown in FIG. 1, a fuel storage pool 1 and a fuel handling pool 2 are provided, in which a fuel storage basket containing spent fuel is removed from a transport container (cask) or stored in a transport container. These are connected by a transfer waterway 3. A partition wall 4 is installed between the fuel storage area including the storage pool 1 and the waterway 3 and the fuel handling area including the handling pool 2 from the viewpoint of nuclear material protection, ventilation air conditioning, earthquake resistance, etc. Therefore,
In such facilities, a device is required to move the fuel storage baskets from one side of the handling pool 2 and the waterway 3 to the other under the bulkhead 4. As such a moving device, as shown in FIG.
An opening 5 is provided in the underwater part of the handling pool 2.
At the bottom of these rails 6 are provided which extend from the opening 5 to the water channel 3, and on this rail 6 a moving trolley 7 is mounted.
is placed on the trolley 7 by a crane (not shown).
It is known that a fuel storage basket A placed on a fuel storage basket A is moved from one of a handling pool 2 and a waterway 3 to the other by means of a cart 7. However, in such a device, main movable parts such as the trolley 7 are located underwater at the bottom of the handling pool 2 and waterway 3, making maintenance, inspection, repair, etc. difficult. The above work may not be possible because the radioactivity is particularly high compared to the above.

3 and 4 show a part of the spent fuel storage facility, including a fuel handling pool 10 and a transfer channel 11.
A partition wall 12 extending from the water bottom to the ceiling of the building is provided between the two. A rectangular opening 13 is provided in the underwater portion of the partition wall 12 , and a substantially vertical rotation shaft 14 is mounted in the partition wall 12 above the center of the opening 13 with a bearing 15 .
is supported through. The upper end of this rotating shaft 14 protrudes into an opening 16 formed in a portion of the partition wall 12 above the water surface L, and is connected to a drive device 17 provided in this portion. Drive device 1
7 is completely covered by a cover 18 which closes the opening 16. An opening 13 is provided at the lower end of the rotating shaft 14.
A rectangular revolving door 19 that closes the water is fixed in a hanging manner, and the center portion of the lower end of the revolving door 19 is received by a bearing 20 provided at the bottom of the water. This bearing 20 is
It only serves to prevent the revolving door 19 from swaying and does not require maintenance. At the center of both sides of the revolving door 19, holding portions 21 for the fuel storage basket A are provided in a protruding manner.

In the above, the revolving door 19 usually includes the partition wall 12
It is located on the same plane as the opening 13 and closes the opening 13.
When the basket A is moved from the handling pool 10 to the waterway 11, the basket A is moved from the handling pool 10 by a crane (not shown) or the like.
After inserting into the holding part 21, the revolving door 19 is rotated 180 degrees. As a result, the basket A moves from the handling pool 10 through the opening 13 to the water channel 11 side, and the revolving door 19 closes the opening 13 again. Waterway 11
On the side, this basket A is moved by a crane (not shown).
etc., and at the same time, the handling pool 1
On the 0 side, similarly to the above, the next basket A is inserted into the holding section 21, and after these operations are completed, the revolving door 19 is rotated 180 degrees. When moving the basket A from the water channel 11 to the handling pool 10, it is sufficient to perform the operation in reverse to the above, and by repeating such operation, the basket A can be moved one after another from one side of the handling pool 10 and the water channel 11 to the other. can be moved to. In some cases, the baskets A may be left inserted in both holding parts 21, fuel may be inserted into the baskets A in one of the handling pool 10 and the waterway 11, and the revolving door 19 may be rotated 180 degrees. It is also possible to remove only the fuel after moving it to the other side.

3 is provided, and a substantially vertical rotating shaft 14 whose upper part projects above the water surface and is connected to a drive device 17 is supported on the partition wall 12 above the center of the opening 13.
A rotating door 19 that closes the opening 13 is fixed to the rotating shaft 14 in a hanging manner, and the heavy object holding section 21 is provided on at least one side of the rotating door 19, and all of the main movable parts are Since it is located above the water surface, maintenance, inspection, and repair work is extremely easy. In addition, since the revolving door 19 closes the opening 13, the proportion of water in the handling pool 10 and the waterway 11 mixing with each other is small, and the radioactivity concentration of the pool water in the handling pool 10 increases significantly due to handling of damaged fuel, etc. Even in such a case, the spread of contamination to various facilities after the waterway 11, for example, to the fuel storage pool side, can be suppressed to a minimum.
