Decorative veneer sheets have been known in the past, which are made by cutting logs to a thickness of about 0.5 mm or less and attaching a reinforcing backing material such as paper or non-woven fabric to a veneer sheet to give it flexibility. . This decorative veneer sheet manufacturing method uses veneers with a moisture content of 15 to 10%, and uses a dry adhesive, that is, a solvent-free adhesive, or a resin film, etc., to perform heat-pressure bonding. It is produced either by a dry method or by a wet method in which the veneer has a moisture content of 20% or more and the adhesive is a wet type, that is, an aqueous solution, and is bonded by heat and pressure. However, although the appearance quality of the decorative veneer sheet is excellent when using the dry method, since the veneer is used with a moisture content of 20 to 15% or less, a drying process is required for the veneer, and adhesive bonding is required. It has the disadvantage that expensive agents must be used. In addition, in the wet method, since an aqueous solution type adhesive is used, the moisture in the adhesive will affect the finish of the veneer sheet to some extent, and the decorative veneer sheet will dry as the veneer progresses. This includes problems such as unevenness, warping, and cracking.

The present inventor conducted various studies to solve these problems, and found that in the production of decorative veneer sheets using the conventional wet method, using decorative veneers with a moisture content of 20% or more and reinforcing backing materials. For adhesion, an adhesive consisting of urea resin, melamine resin, vinyl acetate resin emulsion, styrene-butadiene resin, and natural extender was selected as a water-soluble adhesive, and a stiffening agent was further applied to the surface of the veneer, followed by heat-pressure bonding. In some cases, the result is a good decorative veneer sheet with no warping or pitting.
Furthermore, in the manufacturing process, we have newly discovered that the conventional secondary and tertiary processes such as temporary fixing of veneers and thermo-pressure bonding can be carried out all at once, and have completed the present invention.

That is, the method for producing a decorative veneer sheet of the present invention includes applying a water-soluble adhesive comprising a water-soluble resin, a styrene-butadiene resin, and a natural extender on a release base material;
For example, a reinforcing backing material is laminated by applying an adhesive made of melamine resin, urea resin, styrene-butadiene resin, water, and wheat flour, and then a makeup layer with a water content of 20% or more is applied to the backing material with the adhesive. The method is characterized in that the veneers are laminated, a stiffening agent is further applied to the surface of the decorative veneer, and the veneers are fixed under heat and pressure.

The release base material used in the present invention is preferably a plastic sheet with release properties such as release paper or polyethylene film, which allows the decorative veneer sheet formed by thermo-pressure to be easily removed after heat-pressing.
Any material may be used as long as it has temporary adhesion properties that allow it to be easily peeled off from the decorative veneer sheet, and these may be used alone or bonded to another substrate.

Further, the adhesive used in the present invention may be one that is formulated so that the adhesive itself does not ooze out from the surface of the veneer when used for pasting decorative veneers. The water-soluble resin is preferably one that causes a crosslinking reaction, such as a water-soluble melamine resin or urea resin. The styrene-butadiene resin system used is a latex (emulsion) type. As natural fillers, wheat flour, starch, casein, pretty gum (B-gum), etc. can be used. Wheat flour is particularly preferred. More specifically, an adhesive containing melamine resin, styrene-butadiene resin, water, and wheat flour is used. The blending ratio is, for example, 10 to 15 parts of styrene-butadiene resin, 10 parts of melamine resin,
20 to 30 parts of flour and 30 parts of water. The amount of adhesive applied is 50 to 150 g/m 2 wet, preferably
80 to 100g/ m2 is good. Further, the application means may be any means as long as it can uniformly apply the adhesive; for example, a sprayer may be used.

In addition, the reinforcing backing material used in the present invention includes:
Examples of so-called backing materials commonly used as reinforcing backing materials for decorative veneers include sheet-like materials such as Japanese paper, kraft paper, resin-impregnated paper, nonwoven fabric, and cloth, with nonwoven fabric being preferred. These reinforcing backing materials usually have a basis weight of about 20 to 100 g/m 2 , although they vary depending on the material and purpose.

Furthermore, 2-methylstyrene/acrylic solution (20% N/V, PH6.6-6.7) is preferable as the adhesive, and in this case, the application amount is about 100g/ m2 on average,
For example, it can be applied with a spray gun.

An embodiment of the manufacturing method of the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is an enlarged sectional view showing the laminated state of decorative veneer sheets before being fixed by heat and pressure according to the method of the present invention. That is, the release base material 1 is overlaid on a hot press (not shown), and the adhesive 2 is uniformly applied thereon. Next, the reinforcing backing material 3 is laminated onto this adhesive coating layer. Next, apply adhesive 2, which is the same as the adhesive used to attach the reinforcing backing material, to the reinforcing backing material, and
% or more of decorative veneer 4 is adhered, further coated with a stiffening agent 6, and then heated and pressed to obtain a decorative veneer sheet.

The hot pressing conditions in this case are that the temperature is 110° C. and the pressure is 5 kg/m 2 for 10 seconds, the pressure is immediately lowered, and then the hot pressing is performed again for 60 seconds.

This heat-pressing ensures good adhesion between the decorative veneer and the backing material, and the adhesive penetrates into the backing material appropriately to the extent that it does not seep out and is cured, resulting in excellent flexibility with no gaps. Decorative veneer sheets are manufactured.

In addition, in the method of the present invention, the laminated base material 5 of the release base material 1, the adhesive 2, and the reinforcing backing material 3 can be deposited and stored in this laminated state. This accumulation and storage did not cause any disadvantage in producing a decorative veneer sheet, even in a 2 to 3 week accumulation test. Therefore, when manufacturing various decorative veneer sheets, there is an advantage that the laminated base materials 5 that have been previously manufactured and stored in piles can be sequentially used.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the decorative veneer sheet manufactured as described above. That is,
On the back side of the decorative veneer 4, a layer 7 in which adhesive has properly penetrated into the reinforcing backing material is formed, and furthermore, on the surface of the decorative veneer 4, a layer 6 of a stiffening agent is formed, and a layer 7 of the stiffening agent is formed on the surface of the decorative veneer 4. Some of the parts have penetrated into the decorative veneer. By applying this stiffening agent, the conventional water sprinkling process to prevent drying and shrinkage of the veneer joints can be omitted, and when the laminated base material 5 that has been deposited and preserved is used, the decorative veneer can be This has the effect of preventing the occurrence of gaps in the joints due to shrinkage of the veneer due to moisture drying.

The decorative veneer sheet obtained by the method of the present invention has a glossy and smooth upper surface due to the use of a stiffening agent, and has an extremely good appearance quality. Furthermore, since the upper and lower surfaces are strongly reinforced, the decorative veneer sheet is free from warping and cracking and is highly flexible.
In addition, the surface of the decorative veneer can be mechanically polished even if the thickness of the decorative veneer sheet is as thin as 0.2 mm due to the stiffening effect. The method of the present invention can be said to be particularly excellent since mechanical polishing of this decorative veneer sheet was almost impossible for decorative veneer sheets produced by conventional methods.
