<Prior art> Conventionally, fiber bundles such as synthetic membranes, hollow fiber reverse osmosis membranes, hollow fiber artificial kidneys, brushes, brushes, etc. are made by forming thin bundles (continuous fibers) of continuous monofilaments or multifilaments into a certain length. It is made by cutting into pieces. Specifically, for example, continuous fibers that are continuously produced are spooled onto a reel or the like to form a thick annular fiber bundle, which is then cut into appropriate lengths.

After stopping the drawing of the fibers, the fibers are cut between the gripping pieces B and C. Cutting is performed by intervening the cutting blade 5 between the gripping pieces B and C. An example of a method for intervening the cutting blade 5 is the method shown in FIG. That is, there is a method in which the fibers are cut by making the cutting blade 5 protrude from the direction of the rotation axis (not shown) of the foils 1 and 2. As a means for protruding the cutting blade 5, for example, there is a means of using an air cylinder 6.

Next, the fibers cut to a certain length L' are released from the gripping pieces A and B, and the gripping pieces 7 and 8 are moved up and down.
It can also be used as a grip. That is, as shown in Figure 1-B, grip pieces D and E are located between grip pieces A and B and closer to grip pieces A and B.
are provided, and the gripping pieces D and E move in the vertical direction, and in the process of moving downward, the gripping pieces D and E grasp the fiber F.
Immediately after, the cut fibers are released from the grips of the gripping pieces A and B and the fibers are replaced. Replacement must be done to an extent that does not cause the cut fibers to fall by themselves. Therefore, the cut fibers are temporarily held by the four gripping pieces. As shown in FIG. 1-B and FIG. 5, the gripping pieces D and E are positioned at such a position that they do not interfere with the movement of the endless chain 3, and are configured to move when performing a gripping action. Any means can be used to enable movement of the gripping pieces D, E, and for example, air cylinders 7, 8 may also be used.

The two gripping pieces D and E holding the cut fibers F' descend as they are and enter the tray 9 provided below them, release their grip on the cut fibers F', and release the cut fibers into the tray 9. F', and then raised to a standby position where the gripping pieces A, B, C, B', C', etc. do not interfere with movement, and then stopped.
In the tray 9, the cut fibers F' are accumulated in substantially parallel bundles. Therefore, it is preferable that the cross section of the tray 9 be curved in a substantially U-shape as shown in FIG. 5 in order to obtain a more focused fiber bundle. Preferably, in order to uniformly stack the fiber bundles on the U-shaped tray, the relative positions of the gripping pieces D, E and the tray are periodically changed.

[Claims] 1. In a method for converting continuous fibers into straight fibers of a certain length, a gripping piece having a pair of openable and closable clamping pieces moves the cutting blade in the advancing direction at certain intervals that allow intervention. Two gripping pieces are arranged in parallel, and three or more sets of the two juxtaposed gripping pieces are provided on the trajectory of the endless chain at intervals corresponding to the cutting length of the fibers, and are used to pull out the fibers that support the trajectory of the endless chain. A mechanism for opening and closing the clamping pieces of the gripping piece is provided near the side foil, and a cutting blade that intervenes at a constant interval between the two juxtaposed gripping pieces and the two juxtaposed gripping pieces are provided. Using a device that is provided with a gripping piece that lowers the cut fiber between it and another two juxtaposed gripping pieces, (a) pinching the two juxtaposed gripping pieces B and C; A mechanism in which the piece is opened by a mechanism that opens and closes a clamping piece provided near the foil, the two clamping pieces straddle the continuous fiber drawn from the storage source, and then the mechanism opens and closes the clamping piece. (2) Grasp the fiber with the two juxtaposed gripping pieces B and C, move along the trajectory of the endless chain, and pull out the fiber in the horizontal direction; (b) The two juxtaposed gripping pieces When the distance between the gripping pieces B and C reaches the position of the cutting blade, the endless trajectory is stopped, and the cutting blade is activated to cut the fiber into a certain length.
(c) The fiber is first gripped and moved along the trajectory of the endless chain, and the fiber is pulled out for a certain length L. Near gripping piece A and around gripping piece B, a certain length L′ is cut. The cut fibers are gripped by the gripping pieces 7 and 8 that move up and down. After releasing the grip on the fiber No. 8 and placing it in a fixed position, the grip pieces 7 and 8 are raised to a position where they do not obstruct the movement of the grip pieces B and C, and (e) the grip pieces 7 and 8 are moved by the trajectory of the endless chain. C
While gripping the fiber, the gripping pieces B and C are moved, and just before the fiber reaches a certain length L, the following two parallel gripping pieces B' and C' grip the fiber again. A method for converting continuous fibers into straight fibers of a constant length, characterized by sequentially repeating operations (a) to (e).
