Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled gel composition having excellent firmness, stability and transparency, and storable even in summer season at a high temperature or for a long period without causing the syneresis and dissolution of the gel, by using a mixture of sodium palmitate and sodium behenate at a specific ratio as the gelling agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is composed of (A) 60-90(wt)% volatile terpene hydrocarbon (preferably having the boiling point range of the main fraction of 130-280 deg.C), (B) 3-10% gelling agent consisting of a mixture of sodium palmitate and sodium behenate at a weight ratio of (0.5-10):1, preferably (1-5):1, (C) 5-20% solubilizing agent, (D) 0.3-5% thickener, (E) 0.5-3.5% water and (F) 0.5-25% perfumery. The components other than the perfumery are mixed homogeneously at 70-78 deg.C, the perfumery is added to the solution, and the mixture is cooled and solidified to obtain the objective gel composition. A stable composition dissipating the perfumery and the medium at a constant rate throughout the service life can be prepared by using 3-methyl-3-methoxybutanol as the solubilizing agent.

That is, when sodium stearate is used as a gelling agent, a strong and stable gel can be formed, but the aesthetic appearance is impaired due to a lack of transparency, and the melting temperature requires a relatively high temperature of 80°C or higher. The drawback is that the fragrance decomposes during manufacturing. Furthermore, when oxyfatty acids or waxes are used as gelling agents, the gel strength is insufficient, resulting in a lack of morphological stability, and gel syneresis and syneresis due to high temperatures in summer or long-term storage.
It has the disadvantage that it is easy to dissolve and leaves a lot of residue.

As a result of intensive research aimed at solving the above-mentioned drawbacks of conventional gel fragrances, the inventors of the present invention found that by using a mixture of sodium balmitate and sodium behenate in a specific ratio as a gelling agent, gels can be formed. A gel-like fragrance that is strong, stable, and has excellent transparency. The melting temperature during production is low, so the fragrance does not decompose, syneresis or dissolution of the gel does not occur, and there is little residue. It was discovered that a composition can be obtained, and the present invention was completed.

It has also been found that when 3-methyl-3-methoxybutanol is used as a solubilizer, a stable composition can be obtained in which the amount of perfume and vehicle evaporated is constant throughout the period of use.

The volatile terpene hydrocarbon in the present invention preferably has a boiling point range of 130 to 280°C as a main distillate. If the boiling point range is outside this range, the amount of transpiration of the fragrance and medium may not be constant, which is not preferable. Particularly preferable examples include α-pinene, β-pinene, d-limonene, mixtures thereof, and natural essential oils such as turpentine oil and orange oil containing any of these as main components. At least one of the above is used. Volatile terpene hydrocarbons themselves have aromas and also function as carriers for fragrance components.

In the present invention, it is essential to use a mixture of sodium palmitate and sodium behenate as a gelling agent, thereby eliminating all the drawbacks of conventional gelling agents and achieving the desired purpose. Can be done. Both are used in a mixture at a weight ratio of 0.5:1 to 10:1, preferably 1:1 to 5:1. When the latter exceeds the above range, the transparency of the gel tends to decrease.
On the other hand, if the latter is less than the above range, the gel strength tends to decrease, which is not preferable.

By using the above-mentioned specific gelling agent, a strong, stable, and highly transparent gel can be obtained, and since the melting temperature is 80°C or lower, fragrance decomposition during production will not occur, and the gel will separate. An excellent gel-like fragrance composition is obtained that does not have any sticky residue or dissolution, and has little residue.

In the present invention, a conventionally known low-boiling alcohol such as ethanol may be used as a solubilizing agent for the gelling agent. However, since such alcohol has a large boiling point difference with the terpene-based hydrocarbon solvent, it has the disadvantage that the transpiration of the flavor and medium is not constant throughout the period of use, and the amount of transpiration decreases over time. According to the research conducted by the present inventors, it has been found that when 3-methyl-3-methoxybutanol is used, the above drawbacks can also be overcome. Therefore, 3-
The embodiment in which methyl-3-methoxybutanol is used as the solubilizer is the most preferred embodiment of the invention. 3-Methyl-3-methoxybutanol has a boiling point of 174° C., which is within the boiling point range of the volatile terpene hydrocarbons, and therefore functions to stably volatilize fragrance components at a constant rate. It also contributes to improving gel transparency and preventing gel shrinkage.

Although various thickeners can be used in the present invention, it is particularly preferable to use ethyl cellulose. The thickener has the effect of imparting appropriate elasticity to the gel, improving gel strength, and preventing syneresis. Ethylcellulose is particularly excellent in this effect.

In the present invention, water and perfume are blended with each of the above components. Water serves to dissolve the gelling agent. Further, as the fragrance, any fragrance can be used as long as it is soluble in volatile terpene hydrocarbons.

The mixing ratio of each component in the present invention may be determined according to a conventional method. Generally, the amount of the terpene hydrocarbon to be used can be selected from a wide range, but it is usually about 60% by weight or more, preferably about 60 to 90% by weight in the composition. A mixture of sodium palmitate and sodium behenate is generally used in the composition in an amount of about 3 to 10% by weight. The solubilizing agent is generally used in the composition in a proportion of about 5 to 201%. The thickener is typically present in the composition in an amount of 0.3 to 5 f [f
fi%, and water is usually about 0.5~0.5% in the crude product.
It is blended in an amount of about 3.5% by weight. The amount of fragrance to be used can be selected from a wide range depending on the type and intended product, but is usually in the range of about 0.5 to 25% by weight of the composition.

The composition of the present invention is prepared by adding and mixing an antioxidant, a coloring agent, etc. as necessary to each of the above-mentioned components other than the fragrance, and after uniformly dissolving at 80°C or lower, preferably about 70 to 78°C, the fragrance is added. It can be easily produced by mixing, followed by cooling and assimilation (molding).
