DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for joining synthetic resin molded bodies such as artificial stones, which uses powder made of a material having the same composition or the same appearance as the synthetic resin molded bodies to be bonded, and which has a low viscosity. By utilizing the capillary phenomenon caused by the liquid adhesive, the appearance of an adhesive layer at the joint portion is prevented, and the adhesiveness and appearance are improved.

Conventionally, when joining this type of synthetic resin molded bodies, for example plate-shaped bodies with a marble pattern, an adhesive such as epoxy resin or a solvent is usually applied to the bonding surfaces of the plate-shaped bodies to be bonded. I am using coating.

However, when using adhesives in such conventional bonding means, even if a filler is mixed into the adhesive, the adhesive layer appears as a fault between the adhesive surfaces of both plate-shaped bodies, and the solvent In the case of the one used, not only is the adhesive strength inferior, but also the appearance near the boundary of the bonded surface changes due to the melting phenomenon that occurs on both the bonded surfaces of the two plate-shaped bodies, and the appearance does not match. Various inconveniences have occurred, such as a lack of experience.

Figures 1 to 4 show the joining process of synthetic resin molded bodies according to the present invention. In the figures, 1 and 2 are 12.7 mm thick molded bodies made of acrylic resin with a marble pattern, for example. This is a plate-shaped body made of artificial stone that must be adhered.

That is, in order to join the above-mentioned plate-shaped bodies 1 and 2, first, the bonding surfaces 1a and 2a of both are polished and ground to a high-precision smooth surface, and then both plate-shaped bodies are placed in an appropriate jig. (See Figure 1). Next, in this state, a powder 4 made of acrylic resin having the same composition as that of both plate-like bodies is sprinkled on the boundary part 3 of the opposing surfaces on one side of both plate-like bodies, that is, on the side where high appearance is required. After that (see Fig. 2), a low-viscosity liquid adhesive (for example, cyanoacrylate) 5 is dropped onto it using a dropper or the like, and the liquid adhesive 5 is applied as shown by the solid arrow.
A portion of the powder is allowed to penetrate between the facing surfaces of both plate-like bodies by capillary action and harden (see FIG. 3). Then, as shown in FIG. 4, the bonding can be completed by cutting and polishing the hardened part 6 of the powder that remains in a protruding state at the boundary part 3 of both plate-shaped bodies after hardening and bonding.

By the way, in the embodiments of the present invention, it is best to use the same material as the adherend material, including fillers and colorants, as the powder to be sprinkled on the boundary between the two plate-like bodies. Even if it is a different type of synthetic resin, it can be used as long as it has the same color. Further, the particle size of the powder is preferably 200 to 325 mesh.

Therefore, according to the above joining means, when the liquid adhesive is dropped onto the powder sprinkled on the boundary between the facing surfaces of both plate-shaped bodies, the liquid adhesive has a low viscosity and is mixed into the powder. The powder penetrates and further penetrates the entire surface between the facing surfaces of the two plate-like bodies that are in close contact due to capillary action, and at the same time, a part of the powder also penetrates and hardens.
In addition to being able to expect an improvement in adhesive strength,
The surface of the joint boundary between the two plate-like bodies is hidden by the powder and does not appear, giving a sense of unity as a whole and improving the appearance, which has excellent practical effects.
