Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive a more rapid test printing, shorten a program for a test printing operation and reduce the memory capacity required for storing the program, by performing both a fixed character printing test and a whole character printing test through using a single ship. CONSTITUTION:When a test of a printer is started (a), a line counter is cleared (b), and a fixed character (in this example, H) is repeatedly printed (c) as shown in the first line on the slip 3. After the printing is over, it is decided whether or not the test is to be finished (d). When the test is to be continued, whole character printing in the next line (namely, the even-numbered second line) is performed by shift-in printing (f), the line counter is updated by 1 (h), and where the next line (namely, the odd-numbered third line) is not the last line, it is decided whether or not the test is to be finished (j). When the test is to be continued, whole character printing in the next line (namely, the odd-numbered third line) is again performed by shift-out printing (g), and the line counter is updated by 1 (h). Until the next line is detected as the last line, the above steps from the shift- in printing operation to the shift-out printing operation are repeated.

Printers that use single sheets undergo a no-print aging test to check spacing and line feed system, a full character print test to check the character pattern and print head used, and balance, first line printing position of the media, and It has functions such as fixed character printing tests to check the amount of printing misalignment.

Conventionally, these tests are operated independently by some means such as a test branch switch, but among these tests, the fixed character printing test plays a particularly important role for printers that use single sheets. The reason for this is that the line feed operation of the single sheet is generally performed by the friction roller of the printer without drilling a tin rocket hole for line feed in the cut sheet. In other words, the line feed operation by the friction roller is
This is because the slip is more likely to slip compared to a line feed operation using a sprocket bin, and this slip causes line feed shifts and skews in the cut.

Therefore, in general, when using a single ticket, fixed information such as customer name,
Since the paper is used to print the details of the deposit balance and deposit amount, the above-mentioned line break shift and skew may cause the inconvenience that, for example, information from the deposit amount column of the next line may be printed in the balance column of the previous line. Therefore, in order to avoid such inconveniences, we performed scale printing on test sheets, checked the number of lines, checked the amount of margins and number of printed lines from the leading edge and trailing edge of the sheet, and checked the balance. It can be seen that the fixed character printing test is important because it has a different meaning than the all character printing test.

In order to perform the above-mentioned fixed character printing test and all character printing test, conventionally, the test branching between the fixed character printing test and the all character printing test was performed manually using a test branching switch, etc., as shown in the flowchart of Fig. 2. For example, when the all-character printing test is selected, all-character printing processing is performed and a printing pattern for all-character confirmation is printed on the cut sheet 1 as shown in FIG.

In the conventional example described above, the all-character printing test and the fixed character printing test were performed by two manual branching operations using a test branching switch, etc., but the all-character printing test and the fixed character printing test were performed by one operation. Another conventional example is shown in the flowchart of FIG.

In this conventional example, a fixed character printing process is performed on the first ticket, a printing pattern for confirming all characters is printed on the ticket 1 as shown in Fig. 3, and then an H is printed on the second ticket 2. A character printing process is performed to print a print pattern for checking the balance on the cut sheet 2 as shown in FIG.

However, in each of these conventional examples, the all-character printing test and the fixed character printing test are performed separately for each single sheet, which increases the print output time for all-character printing and balance printing, and also increases the confirmation time. There is a problem in that it becomes long.

The present invention having the above-mentioned features prints a print pattern for checking balance on the first line of one cut sheet, and then prints all characters continuously from the second line to the line before the final line. Shift-in printing and shift-out printing are performed alternately, and a print pattern for checking the balance is continuously printed on the last line.

Further, in each of the above-mentioned sides, the codes on the shift-in side and the shift-out side are fixed characters according to the JIS standard, but other fixed characters such as kanji, symbols, graphic patterns, etc. may be used, and fixed characters can be used on both sides. Furthermore, in the above embodiment, H is an example of a fixed character.
Although letters are used, any letters such as +, -2, etc. may be used as long as the degree of balance can be confirmed. Further, in the embodiment described above, the print pattern for checking the balance degree is printed only on the first line and the last line, but it is not limited to the first line and the last line.

As described above, according to the test pattern printing method according to the present invention, a print pattern for checking the balance is printed on at least the first line and the last line of one cut sheet, and a print pattern is printed on the print area of the cut sheet. By printing the printing pattern for all characters confirmation continuously between the printing patterns for checking the balance level, 1.
Since two tests, fixed character printing test and all character printing test, are carried out on a single sheet of paper, the print output time and confirmation time for all character printing and balance printing can be shortened, and the consumption of paper sheets can be halved. In addition, the print test operation program can be shortened and the memory capacity for storing the program can be reduced.Furthermore, there is no need for a test branch switch as in the past, so the effect is simple to see in terms of configuration. be.
