In the case of a passenger conveyor with a transparent balustrade in which the balustrade panel is made of plate glass, the lower end support portion of the balustrade panel is covered by inner and outer deck boards, and these inner and outer deck boards are used to support the lower end of the balustrade panel through packing. It is designed to be connected to the parts. In addition, deck boards are generally made of stainless steel plates, aluminum alloy plates, plastic plates, etc., but different materials have different mechanical strengths, so the thickness of the deck board also changes, and packing must be adjusted accordingly. The width dimension of the deck board engaging groove must also be changed.

Figure 1 shows an outline of the passenger conveyor (escalator) with transparent handrails according to this invention.
1 is a conveyor section having a step 2, and 3 is a transparent balustrade. As shown in FIG. 2, the transparent balustrade 3 has a balustrade panel 4 usually made of reinforced glass, a guardrail 5, a moving handrail 6, and inner and outer deck boards 7, 8, and the lower edge of the balustrade panel 4 is on the truss side. It is fixed by press-fitting into the groove 9a of the support body 9 attached to the frame (not shown) through packing 10, and furthermore, the groove 5a of the guardrail 5 is press-fitted into the upper edge of the balustrade panel 4 through packing material 11. is fixed by the guardrail 5.
A moving handrail 6 is movably engaged. In addition, a support body 9 that is a support portion of the above-mentioned balustrade panel 4
The inner deck board 7 and the outer deck board 8, which cover the inside and outside of the support body 9, are connected to the support body 9 separately by packings 12 and 13 attached on the upper end surface of the support body 9 so as to sandwich the balustrade panel 4 from both sides. It's getting old.

The packings 12 and 13 are formed by extrusion or drawing from plastic, metal, hard rubber, etc., and are in the shape of a channel with an opening on the side where each deck board is joined, and the lower side 1
Attachment pieces 14 and 15 are formed on the distal ends of 2a and 13a to extend downward at right angles, and by screwing these attachment pieces 14 and 15 into the support body 9 with screws 16 and 17, each packing 12 and 13 is attached to the support body. 9, as well as channel packing 1.
Projections 18 and 19 are formed at the tips of the upper sides 12b and 13b of 2 and 13, and projecting ridges 18 and 19 are formed on the tips of the lower sides 12a and 12b. 21 is extended, and a plurality of protrusions 22, 23 are provided on the upper surfaces of the support parts 20, 21, separated by a predetermined interval.
This protrusion 22 is formed parallel to the extending direction of 1.
23 becomes taller toward the outer protrusions, so that the distance between the protrusion 18 and each protrusion 22 facing it, and the space between the protrusion 19 and each protrusion 23 facing it are used. It corresponds to the thickness of the deck board 7 or 8.

In the above-mentioned balustrade, when stainless steel plates are used for the inner and outer deck boards 7 and 8, and the plate thickness is t1 , the distance between the opposing protrusions of the packings 12 and 13 corresponding to this plate thickness t1 is As shown in FIG. 3, the distance corresponds to the distance between the protrusion 18 and the outermost protrusion 22' in the packing 12, and corresponds to the distance between the protrusion 19 and the outermost protrusion 23' in the packing 13. do. Therefore, if the inner deck board 7 is inserted into the packing 12 and the outer deck board 8 is inserted into the packing 13, the inner deck board 7 will fit between the protrusions 18 and 2 of the packing 12, as shown in FIG.
The outer deck board 8 is held by the protrusions 19 and 23' of the packing 13 and fitted with the fitting.

In addition, when an aluminum alloy or plastic plate with a thickness t 2 thicker than the stainless steel plate is used for each deck board 7, 8, the dimensions corresponding to this plate thickness t 2 are as shown in FIG.
In the packing 13, this corresponds to the interval between the protruding ridge 19 and the protruding ridge 23. Therefore, the ridges 22' and 23' sides in FIG. 3 are cut out from the intermediate portion between the ridges as shown in FIG. 4, or are bent as shown by the broken line in FIG. After that, insert the inner deck board 7 into the packing 12 and the outer deck board 8 into the packing 13, and as shown in FIG. The outer deck board 8 is held between the protrusions 19 and 23 of the packing 13 and is fit-fitted.

In the above embodiment, the protrusions 22 and 23 formed on the extended support portions of the packing 12 and 13 are two, but the invention is not limited to this, and three or more protrusions may be provided depending on the thickness of the deck board used. Besides being good,
Of course, the extending direction of the supporting parts 20 and 21 is not limited to the diagonally upward direction, but may also be horizontal.
In this case, the heights of the protrusions 22 and 23 are increased successively toward the outside. Further, the protrusions 18 and 19 may be omitted.

As described above, according to this invention, a removable or bendable support part extending outward is provided on the packing attached to the support base of the balustrade panel, and the height increases as it goes outwards on this support part. A plurality of protrusions are formed in parallel, and these protrusions allow the insertion interval of the deck boards to be formed to match the thickness of the deck board, so the same type of packing can be applied to multiple deck boards with different thicknesses. Therefore, it is possible to reduce production costs, and it is advantageous in producing a wide variety of passenger conveyors in small quantities.
