The functions expected of modern passenger conveyors include a wide variety of items, such as capacity for transporting people, amount of power consumption, safety, and design. More recently, railings have been recognized as highly public transportation facilities and are being praised for their ease of use; however, in response to the modernization of architectural design, there is a need for individualization and differentiation of railing designs.

Incidentally, each member of the parapet 9 shown in FIG. 5 is arranged in a relationship as shown in FIG. 6. That is, a guide frame 10 is provided at the upper end of the balustrade panel 5 to guide the movable handrail 2, and a gasket 11 is provided at the lower end of the balustrade panel 5 with decorative projections 11a on both sides. An inner deck cover 6 and an end skirt guard 8a are placed on the inside of the step 1 side, and an outer deck cover 7 and an exterior plate 12 are placed on the outside to cover the internal structures such as the support base 13 and the main body frame 14 in a good manner. It has become a system. Here, the inner deck cover 6 is moved from the position of the handrail panel 5 to step 1.
Attach the end skirt guard 8 to the support base 13 with screws 15 at an angle of inclination θ that gradually decreases toward the side.
It is fixedly installed together with a.

On the other hand, a safety device 16 is installed at the part where the movable handrail 2 is inverted from the height H to the top of the parapet X and enters the end skirt guard 8. The front side is designed to move backwards to stop the passenger conveyor. Further, the end skirt 8a is usually provided with operation switches 17, 18 and a control box 19 for giving operation commands to the passenger conveyor.

As for the inner deck cover 6, it has been pointed out that there is a difference in level δ on the inside as shown in Fig. 7, and that the edge 6A at the tip is sharp as shown in Fig. 8, which causes drawbacks in terms of assembly work and safety. has been done. This difference in level δ is caused by the fact that the inner deck cover 6 has an inclination angle θ, which tends to cause manufacturing errors, and furthermore, the shape of the inner deck cover 6 makes it difficult to determine the height h relative to the floor plate 3. When assembling this inner deck cover 6, the screw 15 is screwed in with its top surface aligned with the gasket 11 and its lower end touching the surface of the end skirt guard 8a. This is because the position of the skirt guard 8a itself in the width direction is determined by giving top priority to the gap g between it and the step 1, so the gap G in the left and right direction is likely to be deviated, and this appears as a relative error as a difference in level δ. Note that this height difference δ is unacceptable for safety reasons, as it may catch passengers' clothes or feet.

Also, the reason why the edge 6A of the inner deck cover 6 is sharp is because the edge 6A of the inner deck cover 6 is made of a thin plate with a thickness of about 1 to 2 mm, so the cut is inevitably knife-shaped, which can cause injury to the fingers. There is also. For this reason, in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 57-120573, an attempt has been made to attach a protective material 6B to the back side to protect it from contact with fingers.

Furthermore, the safety device 1 of the end skirt guard 8a
The peripheral edge 8B of the mounting opening 8A of the mounting hole 6a is sharp and poses the same danger as the edge 6A. This area is where young children and others often play pranks, and where lacerations to the hands often occur.

As described above, the known configurations of FIGS. 7 and 8 have problems in terms of assembly work and safety. Incidentally, the above-mentioned known example, Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 57-120573, is a partial protection measure for only the inner deck cover 6, and no consideration is given to improving the ease of assembly or to safety regarding the edges of the end deck cover 8a. Furthermore, none of the above conventional examples focuses on innovation and individualization of the balustrade design, and the structure is extremely monotonous.

With the above configuration, the inner deck cover and the skirt guard can be accurately installed using the end deck cover, which is an integrally molded product made with precision, as a reference, so there is no step difference, and the ease of assembly is improved.
Furthermore, since the terminal end of the inner deck cover and the end skirt guard are integrally molded, there are no sharp protrusions on the end surface, improving safety.

Here, to explain the end deck cover 21 with emphasis on it, this end deck cover 21 has a terminal end (length l) of the inner deck cover 6 made of stainless steel like the conventional one, and a conventional end skirt guard 8a section. It has an integrated shape and is a synthetic resin molded product with approximately three sides of height ha and width W. Furthermore, the details of this end deck cover 21 are as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, and the deck cover portion 21a
Skirt guard part 21b, operation switch mounting part 2
1c, it has a safety device mounting port 21d, and with operating switches 17 and 18 attached thereto, it is fixed to the support base 13 with screws 15.
The end deck cover 21 is made of synthetic resin such as ABS resin by injection molding or vacuum molding, and its ends have a certain degree of roundness. Since this is a molded product, there are no recesses or holes in the operation switch mounting part 21c.
In addition, the safety device attachment port 21d can be easily molded at the same time as the external shape, and can be provided at low cost. In addition, the surface has been given a surface finish such as metallic paint, giving it a completely new look in terms of color and texture compared to conventional metal products.

By doing this, the height h a and the angle of inclination of the end deck cover 21 can be precisely formed by integral molding, and when assembling the inner deck cover 6 and the skirt guard that extends vertically to the inner deck cover 6, If the end deck cover 21 is used as a reference and the end deck cover 21 is installed so as to be flush with the surface thereof, accuracy can be ensured and labor savings can be improved. Also, sharp edges disappear, which is effective in terms of personal protection.
The gist of the above description can also be applied to the outer end deck cover 22 as it is, and the same effect can be achieved.
