Cork is made up of closed cells whose main component is suberin, which is formed by the secondary transformation of cellulose. The closed cell membrane and the action of intracellular gases provide excellent insulation and elasticity. Because the color is soft and it has a unique cosmetic effect, cork decorative materials made by assembling these corks and forming them into tiles or sheets are used for crafts and construction materials.

On the other hand, since there is a limit to the size of cork bark obtained from cork oak, it is difficult to directly form cork bark into a tile or sheet shape by cutting or other means.
Since there is a lot of loss and the cost is high, cork product scraps and cork granules are usually mixed with adhesive and heated and pressed to form compressed cork that is hardened to an appropriate size, which is then sliced into sheets or A method of forming a tile-shaped cork decorative material has been adopted.

However, when a cork sheet made of pressed cork is attached to the surface of a plate-shaped substrate such as plywood, the cork sheet is formed by aggregating many cork grains, so it is difficult to make it thin. When used, cracks often occur when pasting the base material, corners are lost, and it is difficult to handle.Furthermore, it requires large-scale equipment to form pressed cork, and the process is time-consuming. , mixing cork grains and adhesive → forming compressed cork → slicing → applying adhesive to the surface of the base material (or the back of the cork sheet) → superimposing the base material and cork sheet → integrating the adhesive by pressing There were problems such as poor efficiency and the need for a large working area.

In addition, when a decorative board with only the cork sheet attached is used for a decorative material that is easily abraded, such as a flooring material, the cork decorative layer on the surface is easily damaged and stained, and if it is exposed too much, the cork grains may cause friction and damage. There was a problem that it could peel off due to impact.

One possible way to prevent such flaking of cork grains is to increase the amount of adhesive mixed in when forming pressed cork and compress and harden it under high pressure. The disadvantage is that the insulation and elasticity of the flooring material is impaired, resulting in a flooring material with poor cushioning properties. Furthermore, when cork grains are bonded to the surface of ready-made plywood using an adhesive, there are two heat-pressing steps for manufacturing the plywood and forming the cork layer, resulting in poor production efficiency.

The present invention was made in view of the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks and problems, and consists of stacking a plurality of wooden veneers coated with a thermosetting synthetic resin adhesive, cold-pressing them, temporarily adhering them, and then applying the adhesive to the surface. A mixture of cork grains and thermosetting synthetic resin adhesive is spread and deposited almost uniformly, and then heated and pressed at a pressure of 6 to 10 kg/cm 2 to form the adhesive layer between the wood veneers and the cork grains. By curing the adhered adhesive, bonding the wood veneers together, and at the same time forming a cork layer made by bonding cork grains on the surface of the veneer laminate, using special equipment such as pressed cork. To easily and efficiently form a cork decorative material with excellent heat insulation and elasticity by forming a cork decorative layer simultaneously with the lamination and integration of wood veneers during the process of manufacturing laminated wood such as plywood. The present invention provides a method for producing a cork decorative board.

To explain the present invention in more detail below, first, a thermosetting synthetic resin adhesive such as phenol, melamine, or urea is applied to a wood veneer, and the desired number of sheets are laminated, and then the wood veneer is cold-pressed using a cold press or the like. A temporarily bonded laminate is formed by temporarily bonding the veneers.

The reason for temporarily gluing the wood veneers here is that if they are laminated and immediately inserted between the hot plates of a hot press after applying the adhesive, the veneers may fall apart during handling, resulting in poor workability. This is because the adhesive surface may shift during handling, resulting in uneven quality. By temporarily adhering the veneers in this way, the subsequent heating and compression work will be smoother. Moreover, the quality after hot pressing can be made uniform.

Here, the size of the cork particles used is not particularly limited, but those with a particle size of 0.5 to 5.0 mm are easy to mix with the adhesive, and the thickness of the mixture layer when sprayed is uniform. This is preferable because a cork decorative layer with a smooth surface can be easily formed by heat and pressure.

The amount of the adhesive mixed in is preferably 8 to 30 parts by weight based on the cork grains. In other words, if the amount added is less than 8 parts by weight, the bonding strength between the cork grains and between the cork grains and the laminated veneer material is weak, and after the cork layer is formed, the cork grains may peel off due to wear etc. This is because it may peel off from the material, and if more than 30 parts by weight is added, the entire cork layer becomes hard, reducing the elasticity and heat insulation properties of the cork, making it impossible to obtain good cushioning properties.

Next, these were inserted between the hot plates of a hot press and heated and pressed at a pressure of 6 to 10 kg/cm 2 or more to harden the adhesive layer of the temporarily bonded veneer laminate and scatter and deposit it on its surface. The cork granules are compressed, the adhesive in the mixture is cured, and a laminate and a cork decorative layer are simultaneously formed by a single heat-pressing treatment.

Incidentally, the pressing pressure during the above-mentioned hot-pressing treatment is 6 to 10 kg/cm 2 or more. In other words, if the pressing pressure is less than 6 kg/ cm2 , the adhesive strength of the wood veneer will be low and sufficient strength as a laminate will not be obtained, and the cork grain mixture layer will not be pressed sufficiently and the surface will not be smooth. This is because a cork layer cannot be obtained and the cosmetic properties are poor, and the bonding strength between the cork grains and between the cork grains and the wood veneer is weak and the cork grains easily peel off due to friction etc.
If the pressure exceeds 10Kg/ cm2 , the cork grains will be crushed and their elasticity will be lost. Therefore, by hot pressing at a pressure of 6 to 10Kg/ cm2 , the cork grains will not be crushed. It is possible to form the laminate in a single heat press while maintaining its elasticity while satisfying the strength of the laminate, the surface smoothness of the cork layer, and the cohesive strength of the cork grains. This heat and pressure creates a layer of the cork grain mixture that is approximately 1/2 of its thickness.
It can be compressed to ~1/3 and form a sheet on the surface of a thin laminate by tightly bonding the cork grains together. In addition, by hot pressing at the above-mentioned compaction pressure of 6 to 10 Kg/cm 2 , the density of the cork layer becomes approximately 0.2 to 0.3 Kg/cm 2 , and the surface is smooth without impairing elasticity or heat insulation. A cork decorative material with excellent elasticity and surface properties can be obtained.

Alternatively, a heathered pattern of cork may be partially printed on the back side of the sheet so that the cork layer can be seen through between the printed patterns.
In this case, a beautiful decorative surface can be created in which the printed pattern on the top sheet and the color of the cork layer work together, and a cork decorative material with excellent wear resistance and cosmetic properties can be formed.

The above synthetic resin sheet may be attached to the surface of the cork layer using an adhesive using a normal lamination method, or a mixture of cork grains and adhesive may be attached when the temporary adhesive laminate is inserted into a photopress. By placing them on the surface of the dispersed layer and pressing them under heat,
It may also be integrated with the formation of a cork layer. In particular, in the latter case, it is possible to simultaneously laminate and integrate the veneers, form the cork layer, and attach the synthetic resin sheet using a hot press for plywood production without using a separate laminating device. Cork decorative materials can be manufactured efficiently within the working area.

As is clear from the above explanation, according to the method of the present invention, after temporary bonding of wood veneers, a mixture of cork grains and adhesive is sprinkled on the surface of the wood veneers, and then a mixture of cork grains and adhesive is applied at a rate of 6 to 10 kg/cm 2 . This method uses heat and pressure to bond the veneers together and form the cork layer at the same time, so the elasticity of the cork grains is not impaired, and conventional pressed cork can be used in sheets. Unlike in other cases, there is no need to manufacture laminated wood boards such as plywood and form a cork decorative layer separately and then paste them together. The process can be carried out simultaneously using a hot press, and the process is extremely simple, and a cork decorative board with excellent cushioning properties can be manufactured efficiently in a small working area.

In addition, by attaching a transparent or translucent synthetic resin sheet to the surface after or simultaneously with the formation of the cork layer, we can improve the abrasion resistance and weather resistance of the surface without impairing the cosmetic properties of the cork layer. Cork grains will not peel off or become contaminated even when used as a decorative material for buildings that are relatively susceptible to abrasion, such as flooring materials, and will maintain a beautiful decorative surface for a long time. be able to.
