Abstract

PURPOSE:To utlize exhaust gas hear effectively for regeneration of a detergent as well as to improve an extent of the regeneration, by forming the detergent with a material being generable by heating, while connecting an engine exhaust pipe to a heat pipe. CONSTITUTION:High-temperature exhaust gas out of an engine 1 is led into an exhaust pipe 3, and this heat is recovered by a first heat exchanger 4, transmitting it to a heat pipe 5. And, a selector valve 6 and each of on-off gears 15 and 16 are all operated whereby the heat is transferred to a second heat exchanger 9a or 9b in an enclosed passage of a divided passage 17a or 17b, and a detergent 8 in the passage is heated. With this operation, moisture, odorous composite, etc., of the detergent 8 are separated and discharged to the open air or the like from a discharge passage. On the other hand, the outside air is led into an enclosed divider 17b or 17a from a fan 11 by way of a condenser 12 and a heater core 13, making it contact with the detrgent, and led into a car room after being dehumidified and deodorized. In consequence, a degree of regeneration for the detergent 8 is yet higher improved by effective utilization of exhaust gas heat, thus it is easily performable by means of selection alone.

Conventionally, the interior of a vehicle has been dehumidified by operating an air conditioner and condensing moisture in the air in an evaporator, but operating the air conditioner tends to lower fuel efficiency and lower the indoor temperature. On top of that, there is also a strange odor caused by the air conditioner running. Additionally, air purifiers and the like are currently available on the market for deodorizing vehicle interiors, but they require replacement of built-in activated carbon, etc., and a dedicated fan is also required, resulting in a lot of waste. Therefore, in the past, a structure has been proposed in which the air cleaning agent provided in the supply path for sending air into the vehicle interior can be regenerated (Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 101814/1983). This structure regenerates the cleaning agent by causing the purifying air to flow back under the partial pressure of the cleaning agent.

However, the degree of regeneration is insufficient because the purifying air is simply reverse-flowed and the air flow, or wind pressure, removes moisture and odor components adsorbed by the cleaning agent. There was a problem in that it required immediate regeneration after being used for a short period of time.

FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a vehicle interior air cleaning device according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the main parts thereof. A first heat exchanger 4 for recovering exhaust gas heat from the engine 1 is provided in an exhaust pipe 3 downstream of an exhaust manifold 2 of the engine 1 . The first heat exchanger 4 is provided on the outer surface of one end of the heat pipe 5. The other end side of the heat pipe 5, that is, the heat radiation side, is branched off via a switching valve 6 that changes the direction of heat transfer, and is individually connected to a cleaning agent 8. The supply path 7 for sending air into the vehicle interior may be a -flow path, but in this embodiment, it is divided into two in parallel, and the cleaning agent 8 is individually loaded into each divided path 7a, 7b.

The cleaning agent 8 is made of a material that can be reversibly regenerated by heating, such as activated carbon, activated alumina, silica gel, and zeolite. Moreover, the shape is formed into a spherical shape, a bullet shape, or a honeycomb shape so that air can flow sufficiently. Each of the divided passages 7a and 7b is formed so that the flow passage can be switched by opening/closing devices 15, 16 provided at its inlet and outlet. Second heat exchangers 9a and 9b are also provided on the outer surface of the heat radiation side end of the heat pipe 5, and together with the first heat exchanger 4, the heat transfer efficiency is increased. In FIG. 2, 10 is a ventilated perforated wall surface that holds the cleaning agent 8, and 17 is a discharge path through which moisture generated by regenerating the cleaning agent 8 is discharged into the atmosphere or into the engine intake air. The discharge path 1
7 has an on-off valve 18 that opens during regeneration. Although not shown, the discharge passage 17 and the on-off valve 18 are also provided in the other divided passage 7b.

The high temperature exhaust gas heat is recovered by the first heat exchanger 4 and reaches the heat pipe 5. At this time, it is assumed that the switching valve 6 is configured so that heat is transferred to the second heat exchanger 9b. Therefore, the opening/closing devices 15 and 16 hermetically close the dividing path 7b. The heat transferred to the second heat exchanger 9b by the heat pipe 5 heats the cleaning agent 8, thereby removing adsorbed moisture, odor components, etc., and exhausting the cleaning agent 8 through the exhaust path 17 into the atmosphere. That is, the cleaning agent 8 is regenerated by exhaust gas heat.

Then, you are led into the cabin. According to this embodiment, by using the button for alternately using the split paths 7a and 7b, it is possible to regenerate the cleaning agent 8 of the other when one is used, and there is no need to take the trouble to take the time for regeneration. Note that this switching is performed by the switching valve 6, the opening/closing device 15, 16, and the opening/closing valve 18.
