Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency by forming an inner room in such a way that surfaces such as both sides of a wheel and the back wall of a wheel rim are covered with a covering which has both an air flow intake vent and exhaust ducts in a wheel cover for a small vehicle equipped with a disc brake device. CONSTITUTION:Air flow E is taken into an inner room through an intake vent 44 arranged on an overhang 43 of No.2 cover 40L so as to cool both a rotary disc and caliper, temperature of which is raised, and then it is exhausted outside from exhaust ducts 46 to the direction as shown by an arrow head F. Besides, it is also exhausted outside to the direction as shown by an arrow head G through exhaust ducts 32 arranged on No.1 cover 30 which rotates together with a front wheel 14. This configuration enables cooling efficiency of the rotary disc and the like to be improved.

[Rice and I] In a motorcycle mid-circumference disc brake system, the rotary plate (disc), which is integrally attached to one or both sides of the wheel, is usually exposed to the outside air, so the friction heat generated during braking is is dissipated by the driving wind. On the other hand, in order to prevent contamination of the disc brake device, if the sides of the wheel, including the rotor plate, are covered with a cover, the rotor plate will not catch the running wind. The heat dissipation effect of the rotary plate was improved by adopting a rated disk1, providing an air intake in the cover, etc. reference). However, there is a limit to increasing the area of the rotating disc due to the shape of the wheel, and ventilated discs are heavier than normal rotating discs. Furthermore, even if the cover is provided with an air intake, it is necessary to devise ways to exhaust the air. . An object of the present invention is to effectively cool the wheels of a small vehicle equipped with a disc brake device, regardless of the shape of the rotating plate, when the wheels are covered with a wheel cover. The purpose of this is to fix a pair of left and right annular first covers extending toward the axle to the back wall of the wheel rim where the wheel radius connects.
The third cover is provided with a plurality of exhaust ports arranged in the circumferential direction,
and a pair of left and right second covers that cover both side surfaces of the wheel including the caliper to define an inner chamber are fixed directly or indirectly to the wheel support member in cooperation with the first cover, and This is achieved by providing the second cover with an air intake that can catch the wind from the vehicle. According to this configuration, the running wind that enters the inner chamber defined by the wheel cover through the air intake port of the second cover fixed to the wheel support member side is absorbed by the frictional sliding contact between the rotary plate and the friction pad. While removing the generated frictional heat, it is discharged to the outside through the exhaust port of the first cover that rotates with the wheels. One embodiment of the present invention shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 will be described below. FIG. 1 shows a front wheel 14 of a motorcycle as a schematic left side view, and FIG. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of a main part thereof as seen from the front of the vehicle body. The front wheel 14 is rotatably supported by an axle 12 that connects the lower ends of left and right bottom cases 10.10 that constitute the front fork, and is rotatably supported by a hub 16 and a wheel radiating from the hub 16. width portion 18 extending in the direction and width portion 1
It is composed of a rim 20 continuous to the outer end of the tire 8, and a tire T attached to the rim 20. The disc brake device attached to the front wheel 14 is composed of a rotary plate and a caliper C equipped with *m pads. The caliper C is rotatably supported by the axle 12, and is connected to the bottom case 1 by a connecting member not shown in the figure.
The braking force is transmitted to the bottom case 10 by being connected to the protrusion 11 of the bottom case 10. In addition, a plurality of protrusions 2 are formed on the back wall portion of the rim 20 (the wall portion on the axle 12 side) located on both the left and right side surfaces of the front wheel 14.
2, an annular resin first cover 30.30 is screwed and fixed with a plurality of screws 34. The first cover 30.30 extends toward the axle 12 and has a plurality of approximately rectangular exhaust ports 32 formed at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. As shown in FIG. 3, the air inlet of the air valve 24 is arranged facing the opening 33 between the pair of exhaust ports 32, 32. Further, second covers 4OL and 40R made of resin are disposed to cover both left and right sides of the front wheel 14 in cooperation with the first cover 30, 30, and define interior chambers A and B. The second covers 4OL and 40R have screws 5 screwed onto the ends of the axle 12.
0.50 to the lower end of the bottom case 10.10, and the second cover 401.
A substantially triangular support piece 52.52 made of Kinkata, which is also fixed to the lower end of the bottom case 10.10 with a 4OR fixing relationship and a screw 53, is fixed with a screw 54. A fork having a U-shaped cross section extends upward from the disc-shaped main body 42 located on the side of the hub 16 and the width portion 18, and covers the bottom case 10.10 from the outside.
Each pipe cover 48 is fixed with a pair of screws 58. Then, a rectangular bulging portion 43 is attached to the disc-shaped main body portion 42 of the second cover 4OL that covers the rotating plate and the caliper CJIi-1.
is formed in an upwardly inclined position when viewed from the side of the vehicle body, the front part thereof is open to form an air intake port 44, and the rear part thereof has a plurality of small exhaust ports 46. This embodiment is configured as described above, and when the vehicle is running, the running ff1E enters the interior chamber A through the air intake port 44 formed in the bulge 43 of the second cover 401, and when braking The heat of the first cover 30, which rotates together with the front wheel 14, is discharged to the outside from the small exhaust port 46 (see arrow F) while taking away the heat from the rotating plate D1 and the friction pads in the caliper C, which have risen in temperature due to the heat generated by the first cover 30'. ffF, and is discharged to the outside through the air outlet 32 (see arrow G). In this way, in this embodiment, the wheel cover is the first cover 30. The second cover 40L and 40R are configured, and the first cover 30 is attached to the back wall portion of the rim 20 to completely cover the hub 16, the width portion 18, and the rotating plate of the front wheel 14. It can effectively prevent the disc brake device from being contaminated or affected by rainwater, and the European style 44. Small exhaust air 46. Since the air exhaust port 32 is provided, the heat generated due to braking can be effectively wiped away. Furthermore, by attaching the first cover 30 to the back wall of the rim 20 that is sufficiently spaced from the center of the axle, it is possible to increase the diameter of the wheel cover and form a large number of exhaust ports 32 in the circumferential direction. The cooling efficiency of the disc brake device can be improved. It is also effective to provide an inclined fin 36 at the air exhaust port 32, as shown by arrow H in FIG. 1, to further promote air exhaust (see FIGS. 1 and 4). [11 side 1] As is clear from the above description, in the present invention, a pair of left and right annular first covers extending toward the axle are fixed to the back wall portion of the wheel rim where the wheel radius portions are connected. - The cover is provided with a plurality of air exhaust ports arranged in the circumferential direction, and a pair of left and right second covers that cooperate with the first cover to cover both sides of the wheel including the caliper to define an inner chamber. is fixed directly or indirectly to the wheel support member, and the second cover is provided with an air intake that can catch running wind, so that it is possible to effectively prevent contamination of the disc brake device, and also prevent contamination from being caught by the air intake. The running wind that has entered the wheel cover is discharged to the outside through the exhaust port of the first cover that rotates together with the wheel, and the rotary plate of the disc brake device and the rf1w1 pad are efficiently cooled. Moreover, since the first cover is fixed to the back wall of the rim, the diameter of the first cover can be maximized, ensuring a sufficient area for the air outlet and improving the heat exhaust effect. Can be done.
