(Prior art and its problems) A soldering method that is widely used to connect insulated wires such as vinyl to contacts of connectors, etc., that is, a soldering method that does not strip the wire coating or cause excess or deficiency of solder. In place of the soldering method, which requires a certain amount of measurement and requires complicated and sophisticated techniques such as controlling the soldering temperature and soldering time, a connection method that does not use solder, the so-called solderless connection method, has recently been developed and is becoming popular. However, one of them is the press-fitting method.

In this method, as shown in the perspective and cross-sectional views shown in FIGS.
A press-fit connection part (3) is provided with a press-fit slit (3a) having a width smaller than the outer diameter of the core wire (2a) in 2).
Inside (3a) there is an electric wire (2) as shown in the front view of Figure 1 (C).
By press-fitting, a cut is made to reach the coating (2b) and the core wire (2a), and both sides (3) of the slit (3a) are
The core wire (2a) is compressed and connected by the spring force of b).

This method is similar to other solderless methods such as the so-called wire wrapping method in which the core wire of the electric wire is wrapped around the contact tail,
The crimping method involves folding a connecting piece provided on the contact tail onto the wire so as to wrap around the core wire of the wire, but this method involves the hassle of stripping and wrapping the wire, as well as poor connections due to insufficient crimping. This method has the advantage that single wires or tape wires can be easily connected by simply press-fitting them into the slits.

On the other hand, in the press-fitting method, in order to reliably tear the coating of the wire until it reaches the core wire and hold the core wire under pressure, as described above in FIG. 3b) is pushed open left and right by the wire (2) (unless it has sufficient mechanical strength and sufficient spring force to pinch the core wire (3a) from both the left and right sides, a secure connection can be expected. Can not.

For this reason, in conventional products in which a press-fit connection is provided integrally with the contact tail, the quality of the connection is largely determined by the material and thickness of the contact material, and in order to overcome this limit, it is necessary to It is necessary to change the thickness etc. However, this method is difficult to achieve in practice due to manufacturing and cost constraints.

(Summary of the Invention) The present invention provides an intermediate connector having an insulated wire press-fit connection at one end, which is made separately from the contacts of the connector, and a connection part with an electrical connector provided at the other end of the intermediate connector. For example, the connection is made by plugging into a connection part provided on the contact side of the connector. It also prevents the press-fit connection from being influenced by the material of the contact and ensures a reliable connection, and also ensures that wires can be connected reliably even in the case of a connector with contacts made of the three-layered material. This is what I did.

On the other hand, apart from this, as shown in the cross-sectional view of the same figure (b), a connection part (1b) for connecting the contact tail (1a) with the connection part (5) of the intermediate connector is provided in the intermediate connector insertion hole (7a). 1 shows a connector (7) with contacts (1,) fixed in an insulating housing (7b). As shown in the front view of the same figure (C), the intermediate connector (6) is connected with the insulated wire (2) by press-fitting (3a) in the same manner as above.
by inserting it into the insertion hole (7a) as shown in the figure fdl, the connection part (5) and the connection part (1) of the contact are connected.

(Effects) By separating the connector contact (1) and press-fit connection part (3) as described above, the mechanical characteristics of the press-fit connection part (3) can be determined separately without being restricted by the contact. Therefore, reliable connection of insulated wires can be made. Further, even when the contact is formed of a material in which a metal layer imparting spring properties and a metal layer imparting conductivity are stacked together with a plastic layer, the contact can be reliably connected to the metal layer imparting conductivity.

Furthermore, since the present invention connects the electric wires and then connects them to the connector, it is possible to easily connect the electric wires even when the connector is mounted inside an electronic device and there is little connection work space. The invention can be applied to electrical connectors such as switches and relays to achieve similar effects.

(Modification) The present invention has been described above with reference to one embodiment, but the connecting portion (5) of the intermediate connector is formed as shown in FIG. It is also possible to connect the contact tail (1a) and the intermediate connector connecting portion (5) by providing a curved portion as shown in FIG. 5. Further, as shown in FIG. 6, the contact tail (1a) may be made into a round bar shape, for example, and the contact tail (1a) may be inserted into and connected to the connecting portion (5) of the intermediate connector which is made into a cylindrical shape. In addition, a wide intermediate connector connection part (5) as shown in Fig. 7 (al) is used, and the electric wire (2) that has passed through the press-fit connection part (3) is inserted into it as shown in Fig. 7 (b). It is also possible to connect by inserting the rolled tubular part into the cylindrical contact tail (1a), or by providing intermediate connector connecting parts (5) on the left and right as shown in Figure 8. In this case, in order to prevent the plug-connected intermediate connector (6) from coming off the electrical connector, a retainer may be fixed to the contact. Instead of providing a tool, bend the tip of the intermediate connector connection part (5) into a dogleg shape as shown in Figure 9(a),
Connect this to the contact tail (1a) as shown in Figure 9(b).
When inserted into the side, the connection may be made at the same time that the tip of the dogleg portion is locked by the retaining portion (1b) provided on the contact tail (1a).

Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the press-fit connection part (3) was formed so as to connect the electric wire in the same direction as the longitudinal direction of the connector (6), but it can be modified depending on the connection direction of the electric wire, the number of connected electric wires, etc. can. Figure 10 shows an example, of which (a)
The wires are connected in the same direction as the longitudinal direction of the intermediate connector, and among these, fb) and fc) are further provided with an abutment part (5a) at the tip of the wire, and (d) is a wire that is difficult to pull out. It is provided with a sleeve piece (5b) that can be wrapped around and fixed. (1141 is an example in which one electric wire is connected in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction on the same plane as the intermediate connector (6), and (f) is an example in which one electric wire is connected in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. (g) (h) is an example in which two or three electric wires can be connected. The intermediate connector is housed in an insulating housing leaving its connection part (5). You can also do it.
