That is, as a result of various research and consideration, the inventors have discovered that coral sand obtained from the living skeletons of reef-building corals and ramstones has an antibacterial effect and can be used as a preservative in place of conventional chemical compound preservatives. It turns out that it can be done. In order to prove this effect, we asked Chiba Prefectural Health Junior College 1 to conduct a test, and the results were as follows.

Coral sand as referred to in the present invention is coral sand obtained from living skeletons of reef-building corals and sheep fossil groups, and as shown in Table 1, calcium carbonate (about 95% CaCO) is the main component and is an important biological component. It contains essential vitamin elements such as magnesium, strontium, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, and chlorine, as well as trace amounts of iron, copper, zinc, manganese, cobalt, and chromium.

Therefore, unlike other food preservatives obtained through chemical processing, it has an ecological chemical structure, is safe for the human body, and has mineral effects as its main component is calcium carbonate. The fact that it does not cause any harm to the human body is shown in the attached test and inspection report from the Tokyo Food Sanitation Association.

First, naturally obtained coral sand is washed to remove salt, then heat sterilized and dried at 80 to 150 degrees Celsius, and then heated at room temperature for 15 minutes.
It is ground into 0 to 500 meshes, but the grinding can also be carried out by freeze-drying at -180 to -200°C in a nitrogen atmosphere.
It is also possible to mix it with seawater or spring water.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, the food preservative of the present invention is natural coral sand, and there is no risk of harm to the human body. Moreover, since the main component of coral sand is calcium carbonate, it is suitable for use as a food preservative. By using it as a food preservative, it not only has an effect as a preservative, but also contributes to health promotion by naturally replenishing calcium.
