行前に外部からの指令に基づいて、前記記憶部４
から走行開始地点を含む区域の地図情報を読み取
り、その地図情報上における車両の走行開始地点
を、前記表示器５の表示面に設けられた現在位置
指標６ａに位置関係を一致するように、該読み取
つた地図情報を表示させ、かつ走行後に、前記走
行距離検知部１及び前記進行方向検知部２からの
出力信号に基づいて車両の現在位置を算出し、そ
の算出された地図情報上における車両の現在位置
が前記表示面に設けられた現在位置指標６ａの位
置に一致するように車両の走行に伴う新たに必要
な地図情報を前記記憶部４から読み取つて前記表
示器５に表示すべき地図情報の更新を行なう機能
