ら走行開始地点を含む区域の地図情報を読み取り
、その地図情報を前記表示器５に表示させると共
に、走行開始地点を前記表示器５に表示された地
図情報上に位置関係を対応付けて表示させ、かつ
走行後に、前記走行距離検知部１及び前記進行方
向検知部２からの出力信号に基づいて車両の現在
位置を算出し、その現在位置を前記表示器５に表
示されている地図情報上に位置関係を対応付けて
表示させると共に、前記表示器５の表示面内に車
両の現在位置を示す指標が常に表示されるように
、車両の走行に伴つて新たに必要な地図情報を前
記記憶部４から読み取つて前記表示器５に表示す
べき地図情報の更新を行なう機能を有することを
