Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain easier constitution of the titled cassette by constituting the titled cassette of a connector which has a grounding electrode whose voltage potential is equal with that of plural connector pin leads, and connecting the cassette to the host equipment. CONSTITUTION:A cassette housing 1 made by resin molding has an opening part for terminal in its one side in which many connector pin leads 3 that lead the internal-device circuit are located. A printed circuit board 9 is mounted inside the housing 1, on which a memory device 5 comprising a bubble memory chip and a function circuit for chip-driving; and an interface circuit necessary to connect with the data bus of the equipment, etc. are equipped. The grounding electrode 10 is connected to a ground conductor circuit 11 inside the housing 1. When the cassette body is pulled out from an cassette holder, the ground electrode 10 is short-circuited with the connector pin leads 3 and goes to grounded state. Because all the connector terminals of the cassette are kept to equal potential at all time, the break of the memory device drive due to the static charges in the logical circuit is prevented. Therefore, the protection of stored data is made possible by a simple means.

The present invention provides a highly reliable memory that completely eliminates damage to, for example, logic circuits driving memory media and control electrodes (generates, replicators, swap gates) in bubble memory devices due to electrostatic charging of resin-molded cassette casings. This was done at the request of the device.

Such a memory device is a storage medium bubble memory chip;
The chip-driven peripheral circuitry is housed inside a cassette housing made of resin. The device-accommodating cassette body has a large number of connector pin leads (terminals) led out from one side of the casing, and the power supply for driving the chip and the reading or writing of stored data information are carried out through the connector provided in the cassette holder section on the host device side. It operates by connecting to the circuit.

As is clear from the circuit diagram in FIG. 3, the circuit of the memory device 5 housed in the housing 1 is cut off at the open contact 8, so even if the high-voltage static electricity that accompanies charging of the housing is applied to the pin leads 3 exposed on the side. Even if voltage is applied, charging of the gate circuit for driving the device is prevented, and the device and stored data can be protected.
