Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the variance in performance of a flat paint by coating a clear paint consisting essentially of an acrylic resin on the electrodeposited film, etc., on a material to be coated, then coating a solvent-type glossy colored paint thereon on a wet-on-wet basis and baking and drying the paints. CONSTITUTION:A clear paint consisting essentially of an acrylic resin is coated on the electrodeposited film or the intermediate coated film formed on a material to be coated, then a solvent-type glossy colored paint is coated thereon on a wet-on-wet basis and the paints are baked and dried. When flat finishing is carried out by this method, the settlement of a flat agent is prevented and the variance in the performance of the flat paint is reduced. Moreover, a pipeline to be exclusively used for the flat paint need not be provided and the equipment cost can be reduced.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] When applying matte coating to automobile bodies, etc., a matte paint containing a conventional paint with a fine inorganic powder or a fine organic powder matting agent dispersed therein is used. In case,
In addition to the settling of the matting agent, it is necessary to install special piping for matting paint in the painting booth, which causes problems such as the performance of the matting paint tends to vary and equipment costs increase.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention provides a dry-on-wet coating of melamine acrylic or non-aqueous dispersion on an electrodeposited coating or intermediate coating formed on an object to be coated. The present invention relates to a matte coating method characterized in that after applying an acrylic clear paint, a solvent-type glossy colored paint is applied by a jet-on-wet method, and then baked and dried.

[Example] The melamine acrylic or non-aqueous dispersion type acrylic clear paint used in the present invention is not particularly limited, and is a commonly used thermosetting acrylic paint with a resin solid content concentration of 30 to 30. If it can be used within the range of 50% by weight, it can be used. At that time, conventional colorants and other paint additives may be mixed and used as long as the properties as a clear paint are maintained.

The solvent-based glossy colored paint used in the present invention is not particularly limited, and may be a solvent-based glossy colored paint that forms a coating film through a thermosetting reaction, such as commonly used melamine alkyd paints or melamine acrylic paints. It can be used as long as possible. Usually black paint is used, but other colors may be used.

After completion of electrodeposition coating on the object to be coated using a conventional method, and further intermediate coating if necessary, the above-mentioned clear coating is sprayed using a dry-on-wet method to achieve a film thickness of 1 after baking and drying.
5~30J! Painted to about m. After that, a wet-on-wet solvent-based glossy colored paint is applied by spraying to a film thickness of 15 to 30AlI1 after baking and drying.
It is applied to about 1 degree, and then heated at 130 to 160℃ for 15 to 10 minutes.
By baking and drying for about 30 minutes, a matte coating film can be obtained by the method of the present invention.

The thus obtained matte coating film has a good appearance and has a gloss that is approximately 25 to 40% lower than that obtained when the clear coating is not used. Furthermore, when painting is performed using a paint booth, the clear paint and the solvent-based glossy colored paint can be applied in the same paint booth. Furthermore, when the coating booth has piping for solvent-based glossy paint and clear paint, there is an advantage that there is no need to provide piping for matte paint.
