Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a sealing boot of being mounted tightly at one end thereof and increase the strength and the rigidity of the open part of an external shell by integrally forming at annular flange around the external circumference of the open end part of said shell. CONSTITUTION:A flange 3 which provides a means of joining with another member is formed at one end of an external member 1. An external shell 2 which provides a means for accepting an internal member is formed at the other end of said member 1. An annular flange 8 is integrally formed around the external circumference of the open end part of the external shell 2. The flange 8 has both an annular projection 9 and an annular smoothened face 10 formed successively on the external circumference thereof. Such formation is not only suitable in mounting a sealing boot but also rather effective in reinforcement of the open end of the external shell 2 which has potential problem in strength or rigidity.

が用いられてきており、これによれば、1個のカルダン
継手と組合わせることにより等速性を得ることができ、
しかもボールスプラインなどの軸線方向の変位を吸収す
るための手段を、省略することが可能となる。

ブランジング型2ポッド継手は、外筒と、その内部に軸
線方向に滑動及び屈曲自在に嵌入されて回転トルクを伝

、その潤滑のためにグリースを密封しかつ異物が滑動部
に侵入しないようにシールを行なう必要がある。しかる
に継手の両部会が軸線方向に変位しかつ互いに屈曲する
ものであるため、蛇腹形式のシール用ブーツが一般的に
用いられている。シール用ブーツの一端は、内部部材の
側の主軸に装着され、その他端が外筒に装着されること
となるが、2ポッド継手に於ては、外筒の形状が概ね長
円形をなしているため、シール用ブーツを所要の気密性
を得るように装着するのが困難である。
