Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible brazing in the atm. and to increase brazing strength by using Ti or Ti alloy as a core material and Mo as an intermediate layer and cladding a corrosion resistant material on the outside thereof. CONSTITUTION:The Ti or Ti alloy is used as the core material 1 and the Mo is provided as the intermediate layer 7 on the outside thereof. A material having good corrosion resistance and excellent brazing characteristic, for example, either of Ni-Cr alloy or gold alloy is clad on the outside of the layer 7. Composite blank 3' for spectacle frames constituted in such a manner is compressed to manufacture a plate material 4'. The Mo of the layer 7 suppresses the diffusion of the Ti of the material 1 to prevent the formation of an intermetallic compd. when such plate material 4' is brazed in the atm. kept at 600-900 deg.C by using a brazing filler metal 5 such as gold solder or silver solder. There is therefore no exfoliation after brazing and the brazing having high brazing strength is made possible.

An alloy is used as a core material, and a material 2 having good corrosion resistance and brazing properties is used on the outside, such as Ni-Cr alloy, gold alloy, etc.
A method of cladding with silver alloy or the like has been adopted.

However, although this method has the advantage of preventing the oxidation or nitridation of the Ti or Ti alloy core material 1 and allowing easy brazing in the atmosphere, the composite material 3 for eyeglass frames is rolled and made into a sheet material. 4 is made, and this plate material 4 is heated to 600 mm using a brazing material 5 such as Ag wax: Au wax as shown in Fig. 4.
When brazing in the air at ~900°C, a very brittle intermetallic compound 6 is generated at the interface between the core material 1 and the outer material 2, so it is fatal that the layer of intermetallic compound 6 peels off after brazing. There was a drawback.

(Purpose of the Invention) The present invention has been made to eliminate these drawbacks, and it is possible to braze in the atmosphere, has extremely high brazing strength, and is resistant to peeling between the core material and the outer material. The purpose of this invention is to provide a composite material for eyeglass frames that is not available before.

(Structure of the Invention) The composite material for eyeglass frames of the present invention is as shown in FIG.
Ti or Ti alloy is used as the core material 1, Mo is provided as an intermediate layer 7 on the outside of this, and a material 2 having good corrosion resistance and excellent brazing properties, such as Ni-Cr alloy or gold, is provided on the outside of this intermediate layer 7. It is made of cladding of alloy, silver alloy, etc.

The composite material 3' for eyeglass frames having such a structure is pressed to form a plate material 4', and this 4' is made of Ag wax, A as shown in FIG.
Even if a brazing material 5 such as U brazing material 5 is used, if brazing is performed in the atmosphere at 600 to 900°C, the diffusion of Ti in the core material 1 will be reduced by the M in the intermediate layer 7.
o suppresses the formation of intermetallic compounds. Therefore, there is no peeling after brazing, and good brazing with high brazing strength can be obtained.
